Nintendo fights against emulator

I went out with some friends the other day and a girl was playing Legends Arceus on her phone lmao. They can try but I think stopping it forever is impossible
I've been at the point where I think companies are just fighting a losing battle against piracy for years now.

Sorry to say, but "emulators" technically are NOT legal...YET. That being said, also copyright laws can change for each country. Its why I don't like politics, and definitely do not like certain judges. A bad judge can F### everything up.

Emulation by itself isn't illegal.

On the other hand wanting to play games that haven't released yet (because of a leak) is simply because you cannot legally get the game yet. An emulator talking about being able to run a game before its release is basically like telling that you've bought hairpins to open other people's locks. The hairpin itself is legal but the action isn't.

So the best is to keep it quiet and not for products that are still commercially available.

The newer consoles have deeper security levels that have not yet been greenlit by the court of law, so while Dolphin, or snes emulation is legal, bypassing the newer securities is not yet legal and N is pissed because the redditors and youtuber android benchmarkers are dragging their asses all over N's IPs. People have not yet learned that just because you found a cool thing online does not mean to share that info with literally everyone in the world yet.
I don't understand people making (unfinished) fangames like Zelda under UE4/5 and posting trailers online when they're certain it would get C&D.

AM2R got finished before the release.

For free you can mostly do what you want or for yourself its mass adoption that blips the radar. Pkmn took down free palworld mods though so i guess free isn't safe either.

I'd be more interested in seeing a real $$$ lost from people no longer supporting companies that employ shitty practices on principal. I bet that number is bigger than $$$ lost to piracy or copy infringement.
Wasn't the Pokémon mod using models that were copyrighted or behind a paywall from the mod author?

It's insane to me we got a gamecube emulator on switch 2 online with wind waker. we literally have wind waker HD.

I think the reason Nintendo was so harsh on Switch emulation is that it had better upscaling that the switch 2 will. that's not unlike what they did with am2r.

hope this guy will reach to complete this without N effect

"This game is for everyone who has been longing for a specific racer for years" lol
Legally distinct is fine as long as you aren't backed by sony apparently

Donation =/= payment. it's a known legal loophole. They handled the situation so bad.
Well yeah technically but it's still risky.

I'd say that emulating a current gen game is taking a risk. Older consoles being emulated are more or less safe.

Did you see those prices? Consider that a license to pirate.
80 bucks for Mario Kart hell no they've lost their fucking minds for 80 bucks I'll go and do kart racing in real life and buy a mario costume

I think what Nintendo is doing really makes no sense what's the point of fighting against emulators ? Even Nintendo's lawyer says the emulators are legal, but if you play a game on them it is suddenly illegal makes no sense really. What do you all think about console emulator ???
In fact Nintendo can't do anything against old consoles like GameCube,n64 or gba but I think they will something for switch.

i still buy stuff physical sometimes.. dont like how its like 10 dollars more then digital..

In fact I don't even dare to buy physical console like GameCube and gba or ps2 and others old! Some of them are more expensive than new ones!

Nintendo not like any other gaming company is more unique in their approach to gaming they are trying to be special with every device and game and the history is showing you that, Nintendo's games are easily the go to games to hack and emulate and their "Hard work" is going to that point of people instantly pirate their stuff is letting them take these measures, I'm not saying what they are doing is good, they could've at least loose money on the games and devices a little bit and focus on the subscription like how Xbox is doing rn but when you have people leaking their games weeks before the game release that's just crazy, at least give it some time before you do that, I think the pirating scene moved too quickly for their own good this time, and they are paying the price, the whole market plan of the switch 2 is ANTI-PIRACY as plain as it gets raising prices with game share and virtual cartages with new cartages that don't contain the games, but basically a pass key is Nintendo challenging hackers and trying to get thru legal loopholes to make it illegal

Did you know they actually sell vacuums in some ages? They do a lot of stuff.
I actually think they first must go for that game which have all Pokémon monsters.
In fact cracking an old console make sense a bit. I see some one make a switch for himself! Maybe that's why Nintendo want to fight against Emulators.

Well...the reason they are fighting emulators is because they are hitting their profits and the profits of game developers, including the 3rd party.

That's why they hit Yuzu and the rest. Because they emulated their current console. The emulator itself is not illegal until it uses the original console software, and Yuzu and other Switch emulators use product codes.
On top of that, it matters how we obtain the game files. Do we rip the cartridge we bought ourselves or download it from the internet?

The first is legal and probably 1% of Switch emulator users do this. The vast majority download games they don't own from the internet.

I once spoke to Karol Miklas, one of the creators of the well-known #Drive game because we have a mutual friend. And he was telling me that it's really sad to see a game that he spent a lot of time on and which is a cheap to produce indie on pirate apk files sites for android and games for Switch. It's hard to say how much they lost on it, but he believed it was around 30k. € at the time.
