Tell the truth, you've never heard of it: if you define Sengoku Rance as junk, the best conquest/ tactical-rpg for adults (just read all the reviews online about it), then you don't understand a damn thing! You would have made a better impression by saying you don't know it. ?

I do know it. I find the adult portion of it to be very off putting.

They sell one of them on GoG now for... some reason.

NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge
This game is all over the place. The first two had tight action and a cohesion to it, this one turned the combat into wild nonsense. I don't know what they were doing. At least it was better than Yaiba Z I guess.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Fantastic game. 4 took the piss and turned the package into an egomaniacs dream of wanting to be a film director. He failed and that game sucked. 5 was the opposite. You were barely taken away from the action but still had some pretty fun story beats through the cassettes or whatever they were. The gameplay was tight. The world was great. The series went out with a bang.

Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale

Biased a bit since we sold merchandise for the game, but its a great little game with a tight gameplay loop that was pretty unique at the time. There have been a hundred clones since, but back then it was fresh.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue

Assassin's Creed is tough. I like the series but I still have to admit that they are too big and extremely repetitive. I appreciated how this game was scaled back. I believe it came out between Black Flag and Unity, two games that were heavily into the "Assassin's Creed formula". It was refreshing. Also, a solid entry on it's own merits.

Splinter Cell 6: Blacklist

I very much enjoyed the last two Splinter Cell games, despite their "streamlined casual focused" nature. Linear and well designed, just how I like my games.

Great TPS. I thought all of the Xbox era bond games were good to very good, but this was the best of them. I'm glad they got the Connery Bond back.

Tony Hawk Underground 2 Remix

I didn't play the PSP version so I am going to assume it is a stripped down version of the Xbox game. While not as good as the first THUG, it's still a solid Tony Hawk game and probably the last good one. American Wasteland forward didn't do it for me. The PSP was usually pretty good with their takes on console games so I'm going to assume it was good.

Star Ocean - The First Departure

Great remake of the aged original Star Ocean. While not as good as Star Ocean 2, using the same engine really gave that game new life. The original was impressive but the weird move a cursor to move your character during a live action fight was weird. I'm glad they made this and I hope they give it a Star Ocean The Second Story R treatment some day.

Harvest Moon Hero of Leaf Valley

I was pretty burnt out of Harvest Moon after Back to Nature, but I still had some fun with this one. This is still before the much lazier games that came later. Not junk territory yet.

I played the hell out of this one. I'm not a Monster Hunter fan but this one had enough to it that it kept me interested.
