Thought I might share some of my work here. I started getting into writing around my teens as I started hitting the glass ceiling of my art capabilities (and tbh, I feel like it's easier to paint with words than I would brush). I have three that I'm working on currently

1) The Black Bayou
The Black Bayou is a story that I came up with under extreme mental duress. It tells the story of a community of people that were radically altered by a hurricane and chemical spill, turning them into something more than human. It's mainly about people coping with loss and trying to overcome it. There's also elements of witch craft, cosmic horror, metaphysical exploration, dance music, and the martial arts. It's the most I've ever committed to a story because I completely believe in it

2) The Mighty Mucaloids (with Urban Decay)
One summer, I got the itch to write a story about a young comic book obsessed boy and his family moving to a new town (which isn't far removed from my own experiences). In it, I created two fake publishing houses; "Mirthful Masterpieces" (Marvel) and "Dynamic Periodicals" (DC). Needing ideas to populate such lofty musings, I came up with "The Mighty Mucaloids", this hodge podge of concepts about a near future America overrun with chaos where four street urchins die and are reborn on Mars as "Muck-people" aiding a rebellion against the sinister Venusian Warbirds

3) Planetoid
Planetoid is something newer that's largely inspired by Ralph Bakshi's "Cool World" and Virgin Interactive's "Toonstruck". Personally I love cartoons and animation and it's fun to just let my mind wonder towards something less serious than my other works

Going to check this stuff out whenever I have the time for sure man; Black Bayou sounds right up my alley.

Sure, that's why the whole visual art scene loses their mind when a person paints the emotional state of a person that a human language cannot express via words!!!! lolol
