i've never seen an update that takes up to 30 minutes. Should I be concerned? I can't shut down or restart my PC without updating.
i am on windows 11Are you on Windows 11? If not it might be trying to force an OS update.
Sage AdviceDon't be. Do it when you're going to bed, so when you wake up it'll be done.
it will force the update the next time you turn it onUnplug your PC so it won't update.
that's really terribletwo months ago i was kinda proud to have gained 20GB just compressing to chd a bunch of retro CD/DVD games
all vanished with the latest OS updates :(
not OS upgrade, i was already on Win11, just updates
However unlike what the OP mentioned at least thus the PC is not impossible to shut down by bypassing the update.it will force the update the next time you turn it on
What? you have the option to Shut down or Restart without updating in there. That's been present since Windows 10.i've never seen an update that takes up to 30 minutes. Should I be concerned? I can't shut down or restart my PC without updating.

I had such concerns for me Windows 10, so to remove my concerns I removed Windows Update and Defender BS and used its policy against itself to make it stuck in a paradox of these "disservices" cannot ever run anymore even if the necessary files for them had magically showed up lolol. But my recommendation is, if you're concerned about Windows updates means you're concerned about Windows itself
Good idea if this Windows 10 PC only exist to do some basic stuff like only using it to run a program it can run or connecting it to internet. Can you play new games on it lol. I imagine you would need to buy old hardware that even support this LTSC version so you can even use the PC just because only specific hardwares has supported drivers for this version lol.I use Windows 10 LTSC in one of my computers because it is the most stable and clean version of Windows. If someday I move that machine to Windows 11, it will be LTSC as well, I have nothing to do with consumer versions of Windows like Home or Pro. I had my time enjoying debloating stuff but not anymore.
