I’m not a fan of either artist but it’s been fun seeing Drake getting dunked on with this level of finesse. I have zero respect for him as an artist (which is rare) and he always creeped me out on a deep visceral level. Everything I’ve learned about him points to him being a total scumbag. If the feud made his life even a little worse I’m celebrating that.

I've tried but i've never warmed up to Radiohead. They have a few tracks I like (Airbag is probably my favorite) but usually I find them ok at best, and dull as dishwater at worst.

Also hating on Taylor Swift is not a hot take. Most people who are big into music do not care about her. Swifties usually care little about music outside of Swift.

Funny story: I once got chewed out by some guy for playing "Airbag" out loud, not because of any logical reason, but because he was mad I was playing something he didn't approve of — not because he was offended, but because he literally thought he should have given me permission to play a song before he heard it for the first time. Said weirdo proceeded to demonstrate to me what he considered good music by playing the most dull and lifeless folksy pop I've ever heard. (Think 90s Duncan Sheik with an acoustic guitar and a Benadryl overdose.)

As for the other take, that could apply to pop music in general.

That guy sounds insane lol. And I'd say it applies to a lot of them but mainly the ones who have more of a fad appeal.

Now that I think of it, I haven't taken on genres yet:
  • Modern country is, ironically, a crime against tradition. Too many pretentious wealthy snobs are playing redneck cosplay singing about stereotypes that don't actually apply to them and their suburban mansion (which is sometimes their inheritance).
  • The term "country", for that matter. It's called the blues. Nobody in "country" music ever did anything to make it different from the blues.
  • Most pop music just steals ideas from better, more innovative genres and waters them down until you can't tell which genre they originated from. It's like drinking runoff from a bar mat diluted into a cup of water.
  • Anything dubstep or dubstep related is terrible. Every song sounds the same to the point that it's almost not even a real genre, but a series of remixes of the same mindless noise. It's electronica for people who are more artistically lazy than the worst electronica artists.
  • Nu metal is just the worst aspects of metal, punk, and hip-hop mixed together with mindless aggression and vocals that are too whiny, too screamy, and too much like Cookie Monster having an aneurysm.
  • Any hip-hop made by rich former gangsters/drug dealers who still have the same old attitude from when they were criminals (that is, greed mongering to the point of harming others) is garbage by association. That includes all bling rap.

While I don't hate it or anything, the Billie Eilish-driven "bedroom pop" phenomenon really doesn't tickle my pickle very much. I understand that, to a lot of people (and young people especially), it seems much more "genuine" and "sincere" than the traditional hyper-manufactured pop of the 2000s/2010s, but to me an awful lot of it just isn't very engaging at all. The poor stuff just seems like background noise you'd hear in a movie or something – I can't imagine listening to it on it's own for any reason. I think it's telling that, the second Billie got big, she sold out immediately for more mainstream music.

Also, this is neither here nor there, but I legitimately thought Sabrina Carpenter was AI-generated the first time I saw one of her music videos. It was in a YouTube ad, and I genuinely did think both the song she was singing and the video to go along with it was created by Sora to promote a scam service. I do like Espresso, but none of her other songs really grab me.

Still trying to figure out what makes Radiohead so good. Never listened to an album of there's I'd say is better than good but people act like all their albums are the best ever.

My most disliked album of last year was actually brat. Absolutely hated it. No idea what the craze was about.

Also never really rated Kanye, even before he went a off the deep end.

To begin with, if you listened to Pablo Honey, you listened to the wrong Radiohead. They've abandoned that album as everyone hates it, with Radiohead themselves having hated before the rest of us did. And I'd go so far as to say The Bends (while not a bad album by any means) is only a missing link between PH and their more definitive works. So that leaves us with everything from OK Computer onward.

The thing that's worth noting is the experimentation done with that work combined with the sound built up from PH and TB. They played around with things that you wouldn't normally combine with early 90s alt-rock, such as synthesizers and even prog elements. That created a different sound from what others were doing at the time, making them unique in the 1997-2001 sea of post-grunge and nu metal garbage. That doesn't mean everyone is going to like it, but the fact that they were actually trying to do something different when everyone else in the mainstream was chasing the radio-friendly unit shifter money made them a breathe of fresh air in a polluted environment. And people who enjoyed that era of their work have continued to enjoy what they put out later.

I listened to Kanye a couple of times after hearing he was a "revolutionary" artist. He doesn't do anything to stand out at all. And his personality turns his mediocrity to trash.

Once I found out that the whole band wasn't just one guy with a radio for a head, I was PISSED.

"Urban music"
Latinamerican trap for example, my friends are really into it. Artrist like Bad bunny, kid voodoo, duki and many others from different countries around the continent. I don't hate it, but is not really something i listen while i chill.
Same goes for artist like Kendrick Lamar, Kayne West, Tyler the creator and others. Is just not my thing.

I second this!! Electro Pop (idk how to call it) music can be good but this types of songs are kinda annoying
I don't like this kind of "vibing" music with a completely fake voice and a melody that blends with itself.

I want to hear unsubtle and expressive instruments. Here's a example of something I like:
