Movies you're glad got cancelled

well they dont make harry potter movies anymore, so i assume they got cancelled.
They simply ran out of books to adapt ?‍♀️
The only good thing that came out of the franchise is Daniel Radcliffe‘s career.

I’m glad the live action Akira never got made. They might get around to it eventually but it’s been decades by now and we’re all better off for it.

I’m also kind of glad Alejandro Jodorowski‘s Dune adaptation never got made. I love both Dune and Jodorowsky and combining the two sounds insane but considering the special effects tech of the day and the tiny budget a Jodorowsky movie would have gotten I see no scenario where this ends up being any good. I think the documentary on the planned movie was way more interesting and inspiring than the actual movie would have been.

“Good Omens” 1992. I have read the script, it’s comically horrid

As things stand with Hollywood, just about everything should have been cancelled since say 2018 and not make movies til 2028 when they train good actors, good producers, and good writers, not infected by DEI or wokeness.

As things stand now, only one maybe two movies a year i see having any worth at all, and have watched far more anime than anything produced in the west.

There's one anime that will literally be destined to never NEVER get a live action adaptation because why would anyone wish for this. It's Elfen Lied.

Are you for real? ?
I don’t like the Hollywood system either, but the biz is crazy conservative. The most progressive things they did is to stop hating gay people and occasionally casting people of color. If that’s a bridge too far for you, then feel free to throw more meaningless right-wing buzz words at it. I’m sure that’ll help ?

Are you? ?

I'm not going to argue, if you feel it's the best it's ever been then fine whatever I'll press X to doubt and disagree.

I'll just leave my thoughts in the form of a playlist.

You would have to put a gun to my head to make me watch something by that talentless grifter, the critical drinker, and even then I’d prefer the sweet silence of eternal oblivion. Hollywood sucks but not because it’s "woke" and most of the work on big movies is outsourced to other countries that don’t even have DEI measures?

I’m putting you on ignore, not gonna waste my time here with someone that deep into that hermetic eco system. Have fun at your two minutes hate sessions (that’s a 1984 reference btw. Just wanted to clarify that because conservatives love invoking that book without having ever read it)

Was it really that bad? I'm glad it was canned either way. I can't imagine how awful and unenjoyable it would have been.
It was so odd and clunky and I can't imagine it would've ever not been a disaster had it launched. The pandemic didn't help either. Cancelling it probably saved CW a lot of potential money loss.
