They simply ran out of books to adapt ?
The only good thing that came out of the franchise is Daniel Radcliffe‘s career.
I’m glad the live action Akira never got made. They might get around to it eventually but it’s been decades by now and we’re all better off for it.
I’m also kind of glad Alejandro Jodorowski‘s Dune adaptation never got made. I love both Dune and Jodorowsky and combining the two sounds insane but considering the special effects tech of the day and the tiny budget a Jodorowsky movie would have gotten I see no scenario where this ends up being any good. I think the documentary on the planned movie was way more interesting and inspiring than the actual movie would have been.
As things stand with Hollywood, just about everything should have been cancelled since say 2018 and not make movies til 2028 when they train good actors, good producers, and good writers, not infected by DEI or wokeness.
As things stand now, only one maybe two movies a year i see having any worth at all, and have watched far more anime than anything produced in the west.

Are you for real? ?
I don’t like the Hollywood system either, but the biz is crazy conservative. The most progressive things they did is to stop hating gay people and occasionally casting people of color. If that’s a bridge too far for you, then feel free to throw more meaningless right-wing buzz words at it. I’m sure that’ll help ?
You would have to put a gun to my head to make me watch something by that talentless grifter, the critical drinker, and even then I’d prefer the sweet silence of eternal oblivion. Hollywood sucks but not because it’s "woke" and most of the work on big movies is outsourced to other countries that don’t even have DEI measures?
I’m putting you on ignore, not gonna waste my time here with someone that deep into that hermetic eco system. Have fun at your two minutes hate sessions (that’s a 1984 reference btw. Just wanted to clarify that because conservatives love invoking that book without having ever read it)
It was so odd and clunky and I can't imagine it would've ever not been a disaster had it launched. The pandemic didn't help either. Cancelling it probably saved CW a lot of potential money loss.
Slender: the second arrival was a fan movie set to hit cinema at around 2016, but I personally knew that if it would've been, there would be more cult activities in my area (some of my ex friends decided it would be funny to k!ll my hamster as a 'sacrifice' to slenderman, and apparently a few days after it released, it was cancelled worldwide for inciting cult activities.. thankfully it was also pulled from video stores and burnt as the movies themselves were and still are illegal, that's my story

If anyone has any questions about my story just reply and I'll explain more thoroughly
Batwoman
It would have enraged the audience.
Not just because the female lead would have had Mary Sue plot armor or ultra women powa who would have shown up Bruce Wayne played by Micheal Keaton at every chance, the movie was allegedly gonna kill off Batman.
No wonder they shelved it.
The long and thankfully never coming out Halo Movie.
How many times have they tried to make this a reality? Since 2004? After everything 343 shits out im thankful this will never be a reality.
GOD I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN EVEN THE TV SHOW WAS ANNOUNCED LOL
We finally got the TV show and it's sooooooooo fucking bad. I couldn't believe it was that bad. How are they still making adaptations like this that just??? throw the source material except for some aesthetics??? into the garbage??? Even that new Devil May Cry show is like this. It keeps happening.
I had the opposite reaction to The Batman. It was like everything I could have actually wanted from a movie based around Batman, and I even went into expecting that I'd hate it because the early previews made it seem like it was just more ultra violent roid raging Batgod who doesn't learn a single thing like the Snyder movies.
Also movies I'm glad that were cancelled were the Snyderverse DC movies. Thank Fuck. I know they have their diehard fans, but I just couldn't stand them and just thought they grinded the entire appeal of the characters down mostly in a way that felt like they were ashamed of what they were??? I ain't ever gonna forgive them. I didn't even care that much for the Snyder Cut, though it was still leagues better than any of the other movies he was behind for this series UP UNTIL THE NEW STUFF AT THE END WITH THE RUINED FUTURE WHICH SUCKED
Idk 'bout movies that have been canceled, but I hope the Blade reboot gets canned. Heard the production has been a nightmare and even Mahershala Ali wants to walk away from it.
