Most overrated Wii games ever

Kirby's Return to Dream Land. It did introduce new stuff and I had fun beating it in a single day with my friend, but it feels sanitized and cookie-cutter compared to my favorite Kirby games.

Janky motion controls, awkward aiming, and lackluster visuals. It felt more like a tech demo than a finished game.

Isn't that the near-universal opinion? I only remember good press from before it came out. And while a few people defend it, most only think highly of Red Steel 2.

Which I would like to nominate. Wii Motion Plus really did wonders in making the sword controls actually responsive and swing how you want, and the ease at which you can swap between sword and gun is impressive. I just don't really think it's all that great.

Cult classic, yes — but some found the game play clunky, with a boring open world and awkward motion gimmicks.

My overrated Wii game would be Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I think it’s the worst Smash Bros. It’s very anti-competitive. Half the newcomers are lame, the story mode sucks, the online mode was atrocious, I’m not a huge fan of the artstyle, Had modes that shouldn’t even exist (Chronicle and Masterpieces) they were purely filler, and then there’s tripping. The music was awesome though.

I agree on every point.

But tripping was what ruined the game for me, I don't believe people on the percentage chance of it happening, because it seemed to happen so much more than that when I played.

What a stupid function. It made the game not fun, taking all you've built up, all that skill you've developed and technique you've honed for years goes out the fucking window when you're randomly forced to fail without reason.

Twilight Princess
I want my Link to be left-handed, dammit
the gcn version has him left handed. he's just right handed in the wii because most people hold the wii remote in their right hand, since most people are right handed. kind of funny to me since i'm left handed and i always hold the remote in my right hand and their concern was for most people to be able to play the game comfortably.

Dude I  know that.
I'd still prefer some consistency in his handedness as a character, and if anything else they should have at least given players the option to play left-handedly (and I say this as a right-handed person myself) rather than flip the entire fucking game around like Mario Kart 64's Mirror Mode tracks.

i didn't know that; and i think it's the one time that he was right handed. pretty sure that he's left handed in the other games and probably the cartoon as well.
as for the mirrored maps; yeah, i have no idea what the thought process was behind that. i tried to play the wii version and everything felt so off that i stopped after 5 minutes. link's dominant hand should not have affected that part of the game.

"Is Metroid: Other M Really that BAD?"

Yes. Yes it is.

I don't know how controversial this take will be, but I don't like sonic colours.
Sonic Colours is terrible, and a lowlight of Sonic's history. I particularly hate people bringing it up as an example on how to do 3D Sonic well, because it's not a 3D game you hectopascals. It's a 2D game that doesn't want to fully commit, making it feel ashamed it has any 3D segments at all.

The writing is also just really not good. In a vacuum, it's fine; I'm sure we all love goofy romps. But it isn't in a vacuum. It's the worst aspects of Unleashed's writing made worse, and it set the tone until Forces quite a while later. It's a miracle Frontiers and Shadow Gens were made at all.
