Just posting in advance- if anyone dare say Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, there's a 10 dollar fine that I will personally come collect.

As for my answer, I never really thought Pikmin was all that good. It's a really cool concept, and if I explained Pikmin to a friend they'd likely think it was astounding. The actual game is pretty boring to go through. Not even a multiplayer run was particularly fun

Smash Melee. its a good game with friends but single player wise its kinda lackluster like most games of that kind. also theres not as many unique characters compared to Ultimate. Ultimate is a better video game celebration imo.

To me, it was rather lackluster and not particularly entertaining, though that’s simply how I perceived it. The parent company certainly seems to enjoy overhyping their Italian stereotype, do they not?

Yeah Mario sunshine is kinda meh compared to 64 and galaxy, not bad but forgettable, also it’s stupid that flud or whatever it was called died at the end after falling like a hundred feet instead of the old overweight plumber

to be fair the GameCube version of AC 1 was more or less an enhanced N64 game to begin with. newer entries have more for sure. the only things it really has going for it is the fact the villagers have more personality other than constantly patting you on the back and the NES games. the E-Reader stuff was cool but we have Amibo nowadays to kinda replace that.

they were gonna have a 3D Kirby game for it proper but i think it got turned into Return to DreamLand on the Wii

to be fair the Dreamcast version is better for both Adventure games. also im a weirdo that kinda prefers how Sonic handles in Adventure 1 better than Adventure 2

As for me, I'd say it's less that it's overrated and more that it never clicked for me, but probably Pikmin.

Unironically, Super Smash Bros. Melee. I contend it's a fun game. But, I've never seen it as the "deep fighting game" as I've seen it described sometimes.

Wind Waker. Twilight Princess is leagues better than it.


Animal Crossing is boring in my opinion.


Mario Golf TT is an ok game, not amazing in my books. I personally do not like golf. I find it boring and frustrating.



Sonic Heroes is frustrating and not fun. (I know it’s multiplat, but im counting it) Just try getting all the emeralds and all A ranks, you’ll see what I mean.



You’re gonna get mad at me for this one, but….
Shadow the Hedgehog is not a good game. It’s very repetitious and boring. The story also makes me cringe.

As of this past year? Shadow the Hedgehog without a doubt. No, it was not "unfairly hated at the time". The game was and will always be complete garbage. The worst part is knowing that this exact same thing is gonna happen with Sonic 06 eventually... *shivers*

Do people even know what the word overrated means? Why do people keep mentioning stuff like Luigis Mansion and Sunshine? These games have never been very popular oO Also, since when would anyone defend Shadow the Hedgehog? Is this a new meme im not aware of? A guy (Bloodletter) posted the game a few minutes ago in place 5 of his top 50 fav games of all time and Frickinfrik thinks people would get mad about somebody calling it bad? What is happening???

There's so many archived reviews and subjective opinion pieces online, I really don't see what's leading anyone to have unrealistic expectations for games that are generations behind. Praise for a dated game is basically a form of imagination theater, like what aspects were left behind in terms of presentation and mechanics that could have been elaborated on? Instead of sticking to a decades old business decision to abandon a series' direction entirely.

I think about this a lot when it comes to Halo CE and its departure from its RTS/FPS hybrid mechanics that were abandoned in favour of a more cinematic approach.
