Help, I'm getting a game breaking bug with the English version of the Monster World IV ROM when using batocera and retroarch. When I whistle to call the Pepelogoo it constantly gets stuck behind platforms. It takes 4-5 whistles to get it to come over to the character. I got to the end of the volcano level and see it's impossible to do the jumps as it's supposed to come instantly to you while doing jumps mid air. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? I really liked the game up to the point I realized it was buggy and not working correctly.

I'll check it out on the translated rom but there is a really nice remake for PC, PS4 n Switch called Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World that sidesteps this scenario in all likelihood n looks/sounds great

Interesting. Did you try testing it with a standalone emulator like Kega Fusion or BlastEm?

I played using Kega and Fusion emulator back when. Never had any issue.

Should mention it was back in 2004 when Dejap did it. I don't know which version you have, as I see few addendums on romhacking. Let me know, maybe I'll find something.

Hi yea, retroarch has 4 different Sega Genesis emulators but you have to go through about an hour of the game to get the Pepelogoo which is a bit annoying to even get to test it.
I didn't try a stand alone emulator.
I was surprised a core part of the game would bug out in an emulator. I've never had a problem with any other game in retroarch.

Good news is that you can use the saves between different emulator cores, maybe one will work so you don't have to start over again. If not, you can even use a stand alone megadrive/gen emulator. Also I mean the battery saves, NOT save states. Are you using the (virtual console) from this site?

Hmm, ok I'll have to check on the save states. I think the game has saves and also the emulator has saves. I'm using retroarch in batocera linux version 40 on a mini PC.
