Moémon hacks

Look up for Moemon Heart of Gold
on top of being a Moemon hack of HG, it's a decomp one, so it has Fairy types and even mega-evolutions.
They also have some patches if you want to apply Moemons for other hacks like Drayano's Sacred Gold/Storm Silver,

The devs have a discord server where they keep all their moemon hacks for gba, DS and for other fangames.

Well would you look at that, I didn't know there was another team working on Moémon, at first I tought it was the same hack for HGSS but looking better it's quite different. Don't really know the differences all that much yet since I do have a copy of the "original" Moémon HGSS made from the same team that did Mega FireRed, but I will check this one out before giving the one I have a try. Thx!
Edit: and for the Discord stuff, yeah I don't want to join a Discord server just to get some files, srry chief...

This one has sprites that were specifically made for it in a way they diverges a bit from the old moemon design (plus follow sprites for such moemons), the design tends to be more to the anthropomorphic-like side of pokemon instead of 'only humans with pokemon clothes', not all are like this, only some evo lines (like the starters, golem, togepi evo line and some others)
ps: some evo lines also looks like human but with much more detail

and a little bit of trivia for you, but it seems that some years ago the moemon team kinda split itself due to internal troubles between the devs/admins, so there are 2 main moemon servers today

Oh wow, I did not know this... So the dev that worked on Mega FireRed is now working on this new one? Or is the new patch being made by the old team? This got a little more complicated than expected.

To summarize:
>the Moemon Mega Fire Red Team created a server for themselves
>essentially, each Moemon hack is a different project made by different devs, so they don't necessarily work together on the same project since it's made by different people
>in the end of the day, a server is just a place they hang out together, that's why you see some devs on both servers and some only on one of them
>because of that, some hacks/projects are only shared on either of the servers

Got it, thank you for explaining. Is there a full release for Heart of Gold? From what I saw it's playable, but many of the sprites are still the old ones, what update are we on?

The latest version is 2.1, it's a full release.
They didn't made the new sprites for all pokemons so they just use the default moemon ones for the others. When they make new sprites for other mons they replace them in a update.

Hmmm got it, don't know how many mons are changed and how many they reutilized the sprites, but I guess I'll wait for a "fuller" release, I do think it's a bit jarring to have this clash of styles.

if you like a patched rom of the moemon series i use pokeharbor which i not had a issue with but i do suggest double checking the links and zipfiles as people have claimed that site might have malware but i've not seen evidence of such things

I joined the Moemon discord and I found this helpful download link for anyone interested. It has a bunch of patches for ds pokemon games. I haven't verified the overall quality of the sprites, but many of them are quite nice at least.
