Mental health thread

@Xdqwerty, i was curious, what's meaning of introvert when you say it?
"Introverts tend to be more quiet, reserved, and introspective. Extroverts gain energy from social interaction, while introverts expend energy in social situations. After attending a party or spending time with a large group of people, introverts often feel a need to "recharge" by spending time alone."

Each time I see this thread title I think of "Metal Health" instead.

Haven't posted on here in a bit. Hope everyone is doing well. It's nice to see that people still feel comfortable with sharing. We all need a shoulder to cry on some times.

All my life I've been called r-slur and autistic (in an insulting way) by other people. But because ableism is extremely normalized in my country, I couldn't do anything about it without being seen as "oversensitive" and "easily offended". Now I'm struggling with an internalized belief that I'm stupid and worthless compared to other people.

You aren't, people just aren't fit to deal with something far from their own black and white mentality, it comes from a lack of understanding.

You aren't stupid, you’re far more intelligent than these people.

In school, teachers often praised me for being smart. Unfortunately, my supposed smartness didn't do shit for me as an adult.

I don't think any smart kid is prepared for adulthood, intelligence is very subjective and broad, you may have been intelligent in interpersonal things rather than academic or vice-versa.

No matter how smart, it’ll still be difficult, you learn as you age and you’re still learning forever and ever.

That's what people have told me many times, never believed them. Long time ago I started to think I have a mild mental retardation.

Speaking of school, I was bullied and picked on for the most of my time there. It even got to the point where I would physically fight my bullies—not that it helped since I was never that strong and the bullies just saw it as free entertainment for them. Teachers not doing anything about it, even when they saw it happening right in front of them, didn't help either. I still get utterly furious whenever I remember that.

Relations can be soo messy sometimes, i understand how you feel and to be honest that sentiment of being crushed doesn't go easily. BUT, you are not less of a man, less mature, a pussy or any of that. You are important and i hope life gets better for you ?
Can’t find the original comment anywhere so I’ll reply to your reply sorry.

In the chance that @moonbits (I’m guessing that’s the @) sees this, she sounded absolutely awful and was 100% using you. It seems like you eventually realized that too. In the end, you dodged a bullet and I guarantee you’ll find someone better. You did all you could and she didn’t reciprocate, which is her loss. She’ll be a distant memory soon enough ?

I am sorry to be the news bringer, but it has been scientifically proven that the nintendo games do in fact cause mental retardation.
If anything blame the parents not the teachers.
That sounds too funny , Nintendo fans been getting memed on for so long for being soy boys and what's not those names or titles they come up with.

I was bullied really bad to. I was tied to fences with zip ties, thrown into the river walking home, had my backpack thrown on the roof multiple times. I finally had it and got into a fight with a kid in 8th grade. Right in front of the admin building. The kid had to be escorted out by cops. He was literally snarling and foaming at the mouth trying to get back at me. He wound up shoving one of my friends so I shoved him back. When I was turning away he socked me in the face. It was the one and only fight I've been in my entire life. I wound up getting suspended for 3 days for it despite defending someone and then defending myself. I was told "I should have been the bigger kid and went to a teacher". Kind of hard when you got someone on your back choking you.

Thank you, I've been having nightmares about that lately and needed some support.

Absolutely awful why people do such acts? What are they getting out of it?

Usually they mimic the parents. Probably an abusive household or they are not getting the mental help they need which was common up until about 10 years ago. Both of my boys are getting help that they need to function in society and succeed in school. Doctors and schools are much more open to it. It's not a foreign concept anymore. I had a discussion with my mom about all of this and she said she wishes the help and transparency that's available now was half of what it was when I was a kid.
