To be fair, the early games were only like that because of the executives. The quality discrepancy suggests that the devs really didn't want to write the explicit scenes.

I mean I had assumed there was a publisher of some sort, read that the scenes were only in the game to improve sales, and previously seen observation that the scenes have such poor dialogue that it suggests they were implemented without passion. If not exectutives, then maybe the project director. Someone, somewhere in the mix only took part begrudgingly.

At the time, Type-Moon was a tiny doujin circle, doesn't work like that... If anything, the decision of moving away from porn was executive decision once they grew to become a company proper. Cause that's what some VNs were doing at time.
