Mega Man Megathread

I’m reading Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Umineko’s manga at the moment. I love both. After I’m finished, I plan to resume the Arigathon. I’ve a couple Megaman related articles planned. Some will incorporate scrapped ideas from a few months ago that will be reworked and revived.
I really love the feedback on my Megaman pieces, as it encourages me to keep writing more Megaman stuff when I can.

Arigathon ride must continue.

Arigathon ride must continue.
Yeah, and since I’m recovering from my headaches and stomach flu, it should get easier. If not…

There's a great remake version of Mega Man X for the PSP, go for it!

Other than that, OG Mega Man X and Mega Man 3 are my "Mega Man choices".
Thanks for the suggestion, would you recommend the og or the remake?, cuz i must confess i do like the snes era osts

Well, both really, but Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X on the PSP is a beautiful and faithful remake, both the game itself and the OST. The OST takes advantage of the cleaner sound to make it a bit more "dance style", but it's a nice upgrade IMHO.

Go with whatever looks more fun to you is what I'd recommend. I've played both and would personally recommend playing og X first - but it's a matter of preference. 2d sprites Vs 3d models. Classic SNES ost Vs modernised ost.

As a side note, this reminds me that the PSP housed another remake of a classic 2d game utilising 3d models and an upgraded ost. Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. The remake of Rondo of Blood. In that case I would also recommend playing original first, and also prefer the original soundtrack. Again that's just based on my own tastes.

In short have a quick preview and pick either, both are solid games.

thanks for the tip, but speaking of which i really need to get into castlevania, i just never bothered to check where to start in terms of chronological order of the games.

No worries, let us know which one you play and your verdict!
Re castlevania let's discuss in a separate thread, seems to be one we can use:

im new to this thread and 40 pages is a lot. are there multiple versions of Megaman and Bass? if so, which is the best one ::thinking

Since i played Megaman IV on the gameboy , i was a Megaman-fan . I like the X-series until X6 which i kinda like but at the same time dont.

Im still pissed at capcom what they did to Megaman Legends 3 .

They ripped out my hype , beat it to a pulp and let it rot into a despiteful resentment which wont die out , cant be forgotten and forgiveness aint ever the option towards such scummy and villainous act not only towards me , but alot of fans who waited for the super fighting robot who should roam into the lands of gaming not only as an digger , womanizer and noble philantrope ... but as an awesome spin-off that deserved more love .

Rockman & Forte only has one version; the Super Famicom one.
The GBA port does not exist. ::koishigun ::lurking

my favourite mega man x title is a tie between x1 and x4
i am curious if anyone else holds x4 in such high esteem
the soundtrack is my favourite in the series, and the animated scenes blew my mind when i was eight
the level designs in x4 lack the stronger sense of motion in x1, but are still very memorable to me

Most people who played X4 seem to consider it one of the best, if not the best X game.

admittedly i do not know many mega man fans - but i am surprised and happy to hear that
i'm not sure why i am surprised given i do not know the general consensus regarding many mega man titles but even sozors

X4 was the peak of the series for me and the first X game I played. X1 on snes was fantastic. Have you played Megaman Zero? You'll likely really enjoy it.

Mega Man #0 cover

I finally got around to reading the Mega Man comic that UDON made for Free Comic Book Day.

It's a cute little story about Wind Man, Cold Man and Skull Man remembering their battles with Rock. There are way too many puns, but the comic acknowledges Mega Man & Bass, so I don't mind too much. The art is technically great, but there's something about Rock and Roll's faces that really puts me off. But overall, it's worth picking up if you're a Mega Man fan.

Here's Roll with a weird face.
