Mega Man Megathread

I'm most familiar with the X series since I had X8, the X Collection and Command Mission growing up. X8 was too hard for kid me and I moved to the X collection in its place, and there my favorite game was X2, it was the first of them I finished and also the one I finished the most. If I had to rank them all I'd say: X2>X4>X3>X1>X5>X6 But I'll admit to not have played most of those games in a LONG time and if I did I'd probably change the order of some of them.

After I started learning english and got in my RPG craze, I went back to Command Mission, and I liked it a lot! It had a lot of cool mechanics like the Heart Tank healing that stoped you from hoarding potions and brute forcing your way through bosses and I also got a kick out of the Sky Room that let you see character models and concept art.

On a bit of an unrelated note, my best friend had a MegaMan.EXE action figure that looked really cool, but unfortunately he painted its entire face blue with a sharpie. Whenever I asked him why he did it, he'd say "I have no idea".

I prefer x1 myself, but there’s a couple of cool mavericks and stages in x3. Maybe that’s why. X3 sigma can eat a duck though.

I like X3 a lot because of the little choices the game lets you do: picking between the chips that upgraded specific armor parts, fighting the Doppler bots and Vile, and how you can destroy them to change the fortress stages, and the best secret of using the busted Z-Saber as X. Meanwhile X1 I didn't like as much because of how barebones it felt, which I KNOW is really dumb to say, and I realize now how important it is and how much the game got right, but growing up with a collection to pick from I had little reason to play the first one unfortunately. I don't dislike X1 at all, but I don't have the same attachment to it that a lot of other people do.

X3 sigma can eat a duck though.

Hard agree on this though, that second phase can go to hell and the rising fire afterwards can go even lower.

Yeah I also rep Rockman and Forte. One of my favorites for how unapologetically difficult it is. I haven't kept up with the series after the SNES. I wonder if I'm missing out on anything.

It's easily one of my favorites too. That yellow devil fight, though... It became a wall for a little while.

Also I usually don’t publicly talk about stuff I’ll publish because I love keeping things a surprise but after the last article I actually felt pretty worn out so I don’t think I’ll be doing the robot masters list right away. I’ll move on to a lighter project first.

I actually beat the game multiple times, both as Mega Man and as Bass. To put my feelings nicely, I hate it, both for being a bad game on its own and for being a bad sequel to the original Mega Man & Bass.

This is the most random thing but this reminds me that, for only one game, Riku in kingdom hearts had a “super smell” ability.

To be fair, everybody at Capcom are human, the last time I checked. It only makes sense the devs would project their "humanness" onto robot characters, no matter how little sense it makes.

Speaking of robots being functionally human, I find it hilarious, in a sad sort of way, that by the time of Mega Man ZX the solution to the centuries of war and conflict between man and machine is to simply make them exactly the same.

Zero is pretty tragic yeah. I haven’t made it far into zero games but i know the final antagonist is such an a-hole, his dickness exceeds both wily and sigma combined.

I don't know how far into the Zero games you are, so I won't spoil the main villain's identity, but he's definitely one robotphobic/Reploidphobic piece of work.
