How do you guys feel about Maxis' various titles they put out?

I have very fond memories of playing the original Sim City as well The Sims (mainly through the console ports, though I did briefly play the original PC version at my Babysitter's house back in the day)

Thinking about buying the The Sims Legacy Collection on Steam as it's on sale for 10 bux

I have many fond memories of playing Sims 2, The Sims: Bustin' Out, and The Urbz: Sims in the City.
Though Sims 2 (NDS) freaked me out with that alien plot. That game gave me such an icky vibe, I think I was almost sick after finishing the game.

I loved the side stuff the most: Sim Ant, Sim Copter, Sim Tower, Sim Health, Streets Of SimCity... and also the GBA games, which I'm really fond of.

But I never liked the actual Sims mainline titles.

If you're a good abandonware hunter, you can find those games for free. ::winkfelix

Yeah, I have.

Maxis were not good programmers, though — most of what was made before the EA takeover is a pain to run on modern hardware... unless gotten from GoG or patched the hell and back.

Sorry if it's anticlimatic

Never played any of the other ones, i only play SimCity, and that would be the SNES port

Well then let me get started my sweeties.

I like Sims 2 but for its vibe and love Sims 3 for its Gameplay those games are goated.
Moonlight Falls my beloved
I watched so many Lore Videos back in the day about it and forgot most of it nowadays 😅
I played it so much back in the day on my Laptop as a kid hated when my Laptop froze and well my laptop ''Accidentally'' broke forever after freezing to many times on me and costing me hours of progress.

Sims 1 for me aged not that well but I love the making magic soundtrack and overall ambience

Sims 4 is garbage wait not its not..its burning stinking garbage.
And wasted 80 Euro of mine 😥

Tried Sims City was not a fan of it not sure why but never really got into it.

Sims Medieval was fine I guess had to play it on my Mothers Computer since mine could not run it 😑 which was how to put a bit annoying.

There was supposedly a port of a phone version of SimCity over to a Brazilian Mega-Drive cart that I would honestly love to get my hands on. Mainly for the sake of novelty and just to see how it plays

I nabbed the Steam Birthday double pack just a few days ago...and ended up returning them just a few hours ago. I kept having issues with pop ups in Sims 1 always repeating on travel. And then just having my Sim go to work, froze the game.

Sims 2 I didn't even mess with.

Sims 3 in my opinion was, and is the last okay sims game on PC.

For me the console ports were always more my style. 🤷‍♀️

Not exactly what you are looking for, but very interesting nonetheless (besides, when am I going to get to talk about this thing?): SimCity on flip phone: https://phoneky.co/games/?id=j4j4915

What a beauty.

I really love the sims series. I consider it one of my favorite game series of all time. I have very fond memories of 2 and 3, especially with 3 over the years with new expansions to get excited for. I even went as far to study house architecture when I was young so I can build homes just like most users on the community forums of 2/3 back when the sims site had that.
Till this day I regularly go back to 2 and 3 for funsy.

SimEarth had enough of an impact on me at a young age that I pursued higher education and a career in Environmental Science and Sustainability.

A pretty simple, dated game at this point. But the real world implications it had were profound, especially in the era it was released.

Plus, the instruction manual had an entire section on, "An Introduction to Earth Science." A casual game, it certainly was not 🤓

Sims 1 ate up a lot of my teenage years and Sims 2 did the same for my young adult years. I mostly missed the bus on Sims 3, but I really enjoyed Sims 4. Though, Sims 4's DLC scheme and GaaS-sorta vibe really put me off. I spent hundreds of dollars on it for the PS4, because I didn't really want to be stuck to a computer back then. When I finally got over that hang-up, I realized if I wanted to play on a PC I was going to have to spend hundreds of dollars again just to play the content I'd already owned, which soured the whole thing.

Sims 2 was my jam back in the day, I also liked sims 3, but if I were to choose, 2 is the one I hold the most fondness towards.

I played a few SimCity games, but, I prefer Tycoon games over them.

I really enjoy Sims 2

And i can proudly say that i've played every single Sims games in GBA and i love every single seconds of it.

'>' even tho i'm sucks at SimCity
