i thought so.... i hacked my uncle's wii. i'll see if i can get the nand from that...
Here you can just use mine. This here is a download link using Catbox. I like that site since your uploads exist forever on it, but some networks might block it. You can use the proxy website croxyproxy.com and enter the file url into the url bar on there if that link isn't working for you. I don't mind sharing it. I probably got it from something like archive.org years ago.
edit: in Dolphin Configuration -> Paths setting just use the Wii folder from that as the Wii NAND Root folder

don't you need a Wii NAND to go online with dolpin?
Like for bios files for Dolphin? Yeah, you'll have to have the Wii NAND stuff like what the Wii NAND Root: path in Dolphin settings is asking for. I installed Dolphin years ago and made sure to get all the Wii and GameCube bios stuff it needed. I forgot about that part, but yeah you do need that

This game works completely fine with USB Loader GX. I'm using the latest version of it along with all the cios versions it needs. Using an WBFS formatted hard drive you can copy the game over using Wii Backup Manager. As for games over 4 gb like dual layer DVD games the files get split in half as .wbfs and .wbfs1 files automatically when transferred to the drive. This is how DVD9 games like Metroid Other M work with it. If you use an NTFS formatted drive they don't need to be split but I've always used a WBFS formatted drive. If you tell USB Loader GX to use WiiMMfi as the private server the game can get online and you can play races online. (You don't need to do anything other than turn on that option and no patching is needed) You don't need to have doubts. I'm not the kinda person that lies and throws around false claims to get people to download things.
edit: my camera is horrible but here is some pictures of it running on my Wii

Dreaming of version X...
I'll add it later today. It's gonna take me the entire day to upload like 18 gb worth of them. (They're a lot bigger when you inject the custom music audio into them) I don't know why FJRoyet didn't make them in the way I did and have custom music in all three versions. The "Purple" Riivolution version doesn't need to exist and it's the worst version of them. Now I have to do extra work to inject the custom music into all three using wit, Riivolution ISO Builder, and Wii Backup Fusion.

This sounds harsh but almost all the remade tracks from the 3D games look significantly worse than the original and I don't understand why even remake the Wii tracks in a Wii game?

It just reminds me of every bad fan texture pack ever that compromises the cohesive look just for sharper textures...when sharper textures aren't even necessary an improvement since sharp textures clash with low polycount

Ironically a few OG tracks look great and the only bothersome thing about them is how 80% of them reuse the same Mario Galaxy music, which I assume is a placeholder

Rated it 5/5 anyway for effort
Video Game Esoterica made a video just now about Mario Kart Wii Deluxe X, hopefully its an improvement of this

I'm on their Discord so I got notified of it the moment they released it. I'll probably add it as a separate post with new screenshots. Since the list of changes was pretty big and I don't wanna have 6 download links on this post. The 9.3 ones are good to keep if you want a "legacy" version of the last version before they changed to the Mario Kart World aesthetic
By MKW aesthetic you mean the HUD and stuff like that or graphically they changed stuff? I didn't notice much on the trailer.

Uhh hey, sorry if this comment is out of place here but I have a few doubts regarding how to run this on real hardware.

You see, I have a homebrewed Wii with USBLoaderGX and RiiConnect24, and I also have a wiimfi app that's launched from the homebrew channel and which, to my knowledge, you're only supposed to use to patch a game that's in the disc drive for that one-time use, and you'd have to run the wiimfi app every time you wanted to play that game online. Just mentioning it in case it's relevant.

My question is: Since I haven't used my Wii in years, I am not entirely sure of how to get this game going online from within USBLoaderGX. I vaguely recall there to be an option within USBLoaderGX's settings to run wbfs games with a "custom private server" patch and the default option was set to wiimfi? But I'm not sure if that means that it'll work if I launch the game the normal way, as I would any other game, or if I have to toggle some other thing in the settings or install something separately.

Also another doubt I have is that: I heard from somewhere that, if a game is over 4gb in size that you can't just copy and paste the wbfs file onto the usb drive, but instead you gotta do something with Wii Backup Manager? My memory is all over the place so maybe I'm just misremembering and confusing that with OPL for the ps2, but if that isn't the case and you can just copy it straight onto the usb drive then great. I'd really appreciate if someone could confirm or deny this.

And again, sorry for being a bum and barely remembering how to set these things up. It's been a while since I've interacted with this community. Thank you for understanding.

Gonna take a break for today from here. Since the Superbowl, and to take a break from my laptop for a while. You can download the wbfs files for X from their Discord but they won't have the custom music inserted like in this post. I'll have to do that for those later. Expect them to be added to the repo by probably Tuesday
It would be great if you also uploaded Retro Rewind. Although there's no change of skin or cars, the quantity and variety of tracks is enormous and they look really good.

looks like it is time to update
version 10/x has been released

Version "X" is out now!

Hi, I tried running it with USBLOADERGX and it didn't work... I get a black screen. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Try setting the game cios to 250 instead of 249. For mine I used Wii Backup Manager instead of Wii Backup Fusion and just transferred the 6 gb file to my 1 tb wbfs formatted drive and it plays fine for me. I tried it with both Green and Blue

Yo guys if you have more than one version of the game in USB Loader GX you might need to reset the titles cache in Miscellaneous Settings in order for the other versions to appear. I had both Blue and Green and only Blue would appear. I tested both and they both play fine and can get online and also have the injected custom music working. I guess the Red version should work the same and have no issues. Since it was prepared the same way as the other files

Now the post is complete with all three versions having the full custom music for all tracks. I've also noticed that the Red version has different menu music than Green and Blue. Now this post is perfect. FJRoyet even asked me for the modded bi2.bin file so he could possibly use it with the X version or something later. ::megadancebaby
Seems like we won't have to repeat this process when X drops that's super cool ahaha

I recommend Blue version because I'm not a fan of a lot of the choices for the Red Version's skins. They picked a lot of the goofy ones. But maybe it's changed or maybe I have bad skin taste.

The number of tracks in this is insane. And with the custom music it's really, really fun even if there are a lot of dud tracks.

The link has been replaced with the one featuring all the custom music for all tracks. The file works the same way as the other. It's just a lot bigger because of the additional audio files in it. I'll do the ones for Green and Red tomorrow since it takes a few hours to upload each one

I'll remember to add you as a friend in it when I'm done with all the stuff for this post. I'm planning to make a forum thread for a multiplayer hangout for this post so that people can arrange races together and handout. Like a Mario Kart party lol

Good news, I think I just got the custom music working in the other versions too. It works without error in Dolphin. I just need to test on real hardware.
edit: It works perfect in USB Loader GX. Now I can upload all three versions with the custom music in them. It'll take me a while since each one is now over 6 gb, but now the Purple Riivolution version isn't needed to get the custom music on the other tracks
