Low key chocobo in anime

Do you guys remember seeing cute animal that could come off as chocobos in anime?

Last excl comes to mind, and makes me wonder if the show had anything to do with final fantasy.... May be i am over thinking this ^^;;

Yeah sorry for so many posts, i joined a while ago and felt left behind being low level, so making an effort ^^;;

Only thing i can say is....Chocobos are based on canaries. Also they didn't appear till Final Fantasy II(the japanese nes one).

While not exactly anime, weren't there riding birds (roosters IIRC) in Avatar: The Last Airbender? It may be this semi-obscure Asian trope, and chocobos are the most well-known of them?

IDK. Still a fun concept. This TVTropes entry might help your search? Looking it up, ATLA had a lot of not-horse animal mounts but apparently not roosters, like I misremembered.

I ate many as a kid but honestly they're just normal candies.

The cherry ones are the best for me.
