Light Gun light Gun Games

Anyone play light gun games these days?
and how do you play them?!

i still have a G-con45, Time Crisis and PS1
BUT the old light guns wont work on modern LCD TV's and i cant find an old CRT anywhere..
so i got something called a Sinden Light Gun that works on LCD ::agree

It was kinda hard to get it into my country with our strict gun laws haha
i wasn't able to get black or grey so i got blue which is fine
there is even a "shotgun" form factor available but there is no way i could get that one in XD

Its not exactly plug & play but it works how it should straight out of the box on its own software
but the biggest trouble is getting it to work with emulators ::confused what a nightmare!

some of it is seriously off-putting, apparently for Pcsx2 you have to make AHK scripts to assign buttons to the gun
and retroarch wouldn't work if it was already installed before the guns software which confused me up for a long time & thats just some of the problems I've run into so far.. there is alot of "trial and error" involved and each game works differently so requires its own settings
but yeah once its working correctly its so fun! ::eyebrows

it works by putting a white boarder around your monitor and there is a camera inside the barrel of the gun so it can see where exactly to put the crosshair within the boarder. its surprisingly accurate as long as your in a dark room.

so what are your favorite light gun games? im a big fan of the Point Blank series :)

Thanks a lot for the tips. 🙏

I'm in the middle of modding Flycast / House of the Dead 2 to play it in VR, in full 3D with motion controller as a lightgun. Still a few things to tweak but it's very responsive and quite fun to get those leeches jumping out of the screen. You can check this with red and blue glasses or YoutubeVR and your own headset, or watch the flat version by setting quality to "2D" in the youtube options (cog icon in the bottom right of the screen).

I've got a Sinden and this wasn't my experience at all. Guncon games on Pcsx2 have actually been the easiest to set up and play of any other platform I've tried. I don't recall having to set up any scripts, just had to choose Guncon2 as the controller input in the settings and match the buttons to how they're set on the Sinden launcher.

I think AHK scripts are needed for games emulating lightguns with mouse inputs and that cant get a mappable reload button, so you need to click outside the screen but its sometime impossible to do with the emulator.

Anyway, AHK script to set up is not the end of the world. It's a very useful program.
