I listen to a lot of retrowave on youtube absolutely love the sounds. I was born in 1985 so it feels right for me.

alright.. Ill reluctantly let other genres have it.. but..Ill be watching you bastards... naw.. maybe its the 80's color palette and sounds.. if thats the case you "synth wave" people need to watch an anime film (only like an hour long) called California Crisis... its awesome.. great music like Outrun too..

wait... is Hang On or Space Harrier synth wave?... no.. I guess they have a totally different aesthetic and sound.. even though made by same guy sound wise..
