This is why I always play the Adventure games with Japanese voices.

The recent release sadly fixed the translation and only JP voices.

Yes, I understand the context (Tidus having existential dread about being transported in the future and Sin being revealed to be his father) but even then it's ridiculous imo.

• "Syphon Filter" (specifically or mainly Lian Xing's voice).
• "Mad Dog McCree".
• "Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales" (the best known example).

The whole PSX era is just a treasure trove for this. I remember Squaresoft getting a lot of Flak for not using any voice acting until the PS2 but looking back they made the right call.

Some of the early German dubs like the one for Metal Gear Solid were quite hilarious too. Otakon's VA was especially hideous and Liquid Snake had the same one as Neo Cortex from the Crash Bandicoot games which was impossible to ignore. Good times

However if you want cheesy and awkward voice acting you can't beat lightgun shooters like Vampire Night:

A personal favorite of mine is The Sniper 2:

the whole game has the same qualities as the movie the Room. Truly one for the ages.
