Kirby Superthread Ultra

Of course, Meta Knight is a badass.

And I think that it also comes from the fact he's from the same species as Kirby.

It was quite the plot twist even back in '93 on the NES.
This and the fact that Dedede is definitely more animal-like and Fecto Fargo's psychic shit seems to work on that and only that.

Why does this even exist

My guess is just to have a machine with more flying capability in Free Run until you get the Dragoon? I don't really know tbh. I do know it is very good for exploring Free Run.

I've always found it weird how the Kirby series was all like "they're animal" then went back to "they're actually not animals but aliens looking like familiar animals" in Forgotten Land onwards (ie: Rick's description in Air Riders).

I'm still having plenty of questions regarding Meta Knight
especially regarding his bat wings that seems to come from nowhere. Are those usually growing when a member of the species matures (like with Galacta and Morpho knight) or is this a sort of curse he had?

I know that the lore is scattered around and that some retcons have been done with RTDL but still, there are several unresolved questions.

The neat thing about Meta Knight is that because he's a mystery, people can use whatever they want to fill in the blanks.

Some popular headcanons for him explaining his wings include stuff like:
- Being created by Nightmare (this is especially popular with fans of the Kirby anime and is known as "The Meta Knightmare theory")
- He and Kirby's species simply grow wings when they become older, which means Kirby will get wings when he's older

I actually write a lot of Kirby fanfics and have my own AU stuff, so my interpretation ties into the idea that
adults of Kirby's species can actually be trained into using whatever Copy Ability they want without needing to inhale anything. (i.e. think of how Kirby in Smash doesn't need specific Copy Abilities to use Stone, Hammer, or Cutter) In this sort of interpretation, Meta Knight's cape acts as a sort of medium to turn into wings. It's like... a bit hard for me to explain, but it makes sense to me in my head.

I don't mind fan theories as long as they're theories.

Kumazaki has made a ton of lore related to Sakurai and Shimomura's games but I guess that letting some stuff in the dark may be better to respect the original creators while not risking any inconsistencies.

That's why Triple Deluxe's Floralia got the Amazing Mirror because it was a game by Flagship and it was said to be high in the skies as well.

That's also why Dark Matter Swordsman is a clone and that Star Dream is a totally separate clockwork star compared to Nova.

This is also why they made Magolor canon to Kirby Clash since it's a character made by Kumazaki.

Honestly speaking, it's a very clever way to add onto existing canon while respectfully keeping other works intact imo.

But it's also why I kind of hope things like "the Heroes of Yore" stay ambiguous, mostly because I think the magic with the Kirby series is how it adds a sense of mystery and can really spur the imagination.

An appreciation post for my partner and I’s second favorite abilities! We discussed them while playing today.

Both Wing (my partner’s second favorite) and Parasol (my second favorite) feel somewhat underloved. They’re definitely enjoyed abilities, but it feels like these two are the kind that can slip through the cracks and become “oh yeah, I like that one!” and not much more.

Also, shoutouts to unique one use abilities with fun animations that we don’t see too often!

Wing was one of my favourite ability back in Superstar, being able to have better air movements was a plus.

Shame it's rarely seen outside of this game or in very situational use...

Paint in Superstar/Ultra was peculiar and honestly just useful for two bosses yet I liked his hat (it reminds me of Paint Roller in a way). Glad Star Allies gave him an actual moveset.

My wish is to see a more refined Light ability someday.

RIGHT?! I would love for it to come back, perhaps combined with laser, to be this light god type ability casting rays of judgement onto enemies!
