Kirby Superthread Ultra

Of course, Meta Knight is a badass.

And I think that it also comes from the fact he's from the same species as Kirby.

It was quite the plot twist even back in '93 on the NES.
This and the fact that Dedede is definitely more animal-like and Fecto Fargo's psychic shit seems to work on that and only that.

Why does this even exist

My guess is just to have a machine with more flying capability in Free Run until you get the Dragoon? I don't really know tbh. I do know it is very good for exploring Free Run.

I've always found it weird how the Kirby series was all like "they're animal" then went back to "they're actually not animals but aliens looking like familiar animals" in Forgotten Land onwards (ie: Rick's description in Air Riders).

I'm still having plenty of questions regarding Meta Knight
especially regarding his bat wings that seems to come from nowhere. Are those usually growing when a member of the species matures (like with Galacta and Morpho knight) or is this a sort of curse he had?

I know that the lore is scattered around and that some retcons have been done with RTDL but still, there are several unresolved questions.

The neat thing about Meta Knight is that because he's a mystery, people can use whatever they want to fill in the blanks.

Some popular headcanons for him explaining his wings include stuff like:
- Being created by Nightmare (this is especially popular with fans of the Kirby anime and is known as "The Meta Knightmare theory")
- He and Kirby's species simply grow wings when they become older, which means Kirby will get wings when he's older

I actually write a lot of Kirby fanfics and have my own AU stuff, so my interpretation ties into the idea that
adults of Kirby's species can actually be trained into using whatever Copy Ability they want without needing to inhale anything. (i.e. think of how Kirby in Smash doesn't need specific Copy Abilities to use Stone, Hammer, or Cutter) In this sort of interpretation, Meta Knight's cape acts as a sort of medium to turn into wings. It's like... a bit hard for me to explain, but it makes sense to me in my head.
