Is Naughty Dog taking it easy?

I may be wrong, but I believe the public pushback against Intergalactic is forcing second guessing, changes and causing delays. The same with other games, like Fairgame$, that's m.i.a. but somehow still being funded by Sony.

What's disgusting about the new game? We barely know anything about it.

You seem to be overly hyperbolic with your negativity.
Haven't you seen the trash trailer or the look of the game? What else do you know to need about this trash. Plus the story and etc.

Pretty much what I mentioned earlier. I want to believe that the leak, and the public backlash to it, is forcing ND to make dramatic changes. But I don't. Not with Neil Druckmann at the helm of the company. He proved that he is incapable of admitting to mistakes with TLoU2 TV series that shot the Joel scene verbatim after the massive backlash the company received from the same scene in the game years earlier.

My gut instinct is telling me what I said before: ND is heavily bloated with middle-management, HR, and recent college hires in recently-created departments who all only exist for the sake of existing. While I don't believe ND is in the same crosshairs as Bungie is by Sony IE right now, I do believe that if Intergalactic fails to meet metrics then the company could be absorbed fully into SIE as an "IP House" and disbanded. While this thread has shown that there are fans of either/both ND/SIE, it'll be the "normies" who decide. Given:

I'm uncertain if they can capture the normie audience.

More-or-less where my head is at as well..

OOF! That is one hell of a 4-way ratio!
The crash is certainly upon us... and I'm here for it..

Naughty Dog seems nervous, and Neil Druckmann probably feels he's on his way out, as ND has a second game in development - the Uncharted 1 remake probably - and he's not the one producing it.

Naughty Dog has been riding the easy street train ever since Uncharted 2. I don't hate them, but I necessarily don't care them much anymore. They can do whatever they want, but i'm not gonna be interested in Intergalatic until I see some actual gameplay.
