I thought Bazzite was the recommended distro to test for gaming performance.
i disagree with that, bazzite is on the fedora pipeline and doesn't update enough to get day 1 patches and graphics updates, if your gonna test gaming performance any arch distro is better, generally i suggest garuda (obviously, as i'm known for) but even vanilla arch is a better choice to build it yourself for gaming imo as it updates constantly.
Bazzite is the "just works" distro, basically it's designed to be as user friendly as steam deck, but they decided to use the fedora update schedule so it doesn't update as much.
That said, the reason i don't suggest bazzite for this specific situation is it's got some bloat to be as easy as windows to use, which effects performance, basically some of the performance is being siphoned off by system background processes, it however, is probably the closest to win 11 you could get out of the box though.
A good middle ground here would have been to install nobara, a no fuss distro on fedora designed specifically for gaming.
Don't misunderstand btw, bazzite isn't a terrible choice, it's just bad for this specific situation as it's not really designed for it, bazzite is designed for fairly recent hardware (as in, since the ryzen 2xxx series cpu's).
