English translation of the sequel/expansion to Iron Storm, originally only released in Japan under its original name World Advanced Daisenryaku: Sakusen File. It contains different campaigns, two new playable armies (UK and USSR), local multiplayer, and many skirmish maps. Further, the patch also corrects bugs present in the original game.

Should add the original Iron Storm here, which is in english but this author has re-translated more faithfully to the source.

Strong Style :p Skim around this (attrocious quality but beggars can't be choosers) video, it looks more like the previous games than Last of the Millennium but appears to have (then) modern warfare stuff I suppose.
That actually looks pretty good. Yeah, it looks like it's an upscaled "strong style" haha, of the Genesis Daisenryaku that came out. I'd totally play it if it was done. That's the beauty of these games, especially Iron Storm or Last Millenium, you don't really need to know what's going on. You just need to be able to know what the menu options do (preferably without trial and error). It's WW2. I mean, I can generally figure out what they're talking about (in Iron Storm's case) due to the globe focusing on the area and you can still tell the year. So, it wasn't hard to figure out specifically what battle we were supposed to be doing.

Which one is that?

I don't know Strong Style. Which one is that? Last of the millennium would be awesome. I'd be happy with a simple translation of the menus on that one just to ease my mind.
Strong Style seems to be another Saturn entry, but I don't know more than that.

Great translation and the new story's lovely too and more than understandable why they had to take this approach.

Hope they do Strong Style and Last of the Millennium too, especially the latter which looks like a leap for the series.

That is how the Colonial Campaign was born: a new script written to fit the existing assets, the broader game universe, and the structural quirks of the campaign. In this sense, I am fully localizing the assets while leaving the original campaign behind.
That...is incredibly disappointing. I wanted the original game in English, not some weird cut-down bastardized version of it. If you don't have room on the text, just do what old DOS games did and include extra text files off to the side and tell us in game to reference them.

Ill play this. I just wish it was as close to Military Madness as it appears from screenshots.
It's actually a step up in general complexity, I'd say. Weather influences not only movement but also plane accuracy and effectiveness for example.

Yeah it has the Soviet campaign and a fictional British one in a fantasy world. As stated, it's kind of like a DLC before they had DLCs.
Exactly. It seems you can play the fantasy campaign with any of the armies in the game, from what I've seen.

So this has all the base game content + extra stuff? Just trying to figure out if this is a sequel or expansion.
It's treated as a sequel by the developers, but personally I see it as a sort of standalone DLC.

It has the same base engine but significant content differences in regards to campaigns and available skirmish maps. The available armies are the same as the base Iron Storm (with the addition of the UK and USSR that weren't playable in that game).

I will amend the description to make it more clear.
