Hello guys, what is y'all opinion what is the handheld or console to emulate, on my last thread I asked y'all if y'all think I should emulate my phone, and now I'm asking for emulators, thanks:)

Maybe you should also write down what kind of smartphone you are using because the emulators all have different requirements and some smartphones can not cope with them??

SNES, GameCube, ps1, ps2, PSP, vita
I would recommend against emulating PS2 and Vita on your phone unless you have a high-end flagship phone due to the high specs involved.

You'll definitely be able to emulate anything up and including PSX (so NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, SEga CD, etc.) and you'll also be able to emulate GB, GBC, and GBA easily as well.

Thanks bro, I think I might not run PS2 and vita that well lol.

I am only emulating on PSP and PSX rn cuz I'm bored to emulate games lol,
I will emulate the things you said that I can emulate easily, thanks bro🫡

With that SoC you could emulate up to Saturn / GameCube (most games).

But why would you want to emulate consoles in a phone with crappy touch controls? my suggestion is to grab a phone that has a broken screen and DisplayPort compatibility through usb-c port, hook it to a monitor, use a gamepad and enjoy the most of Android :)

if i want something portable and am playing psx snes psp ect vita is number one. for anything like ps2 gc 3ds i use steam deck or rog ally x. i love the ally x but still wish it was smaller :-( miss pocketable portables

I have a 4 year old phone with a Mali chipset and emulate ps2 and Vita games regularly.

In my totally non-expert opinion, to your question, (if I am reading it right) I would go with GBA. I use Retroarch on my phone for it but there are other standalone options in the play store. GBA is great for emulating on a phone because its got nice graphics, amazing diversity of games. and the screen ratio works well for on screen controls that don't intrude in the play area to badly. Other handhelds emulation like the PSP or DS things get cramped on the screen which (for me) diminish the experience.

if youre using android I'd recommend an emulator called classicboy. its an all in one and tends to work better for most systems on lower end devices than other emulators I've tried. it can emulate dreamcast/psp/ds and older and it's the one I recommend if you are just looking for something to play games on your phone.

The three gameboys, mostly because you can emulate them in almost anything in console terms

NES
Gameboy/Gameboy Color
SNES
N64
GBA
Gamecube
Wii
Master System
Game Gear
Genesis/Mega Drive/32X
Saturn
Dreamcast
PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 16
PS1
PS2
PSP
Vita
MAME
Atari 2600

Handhelds? I think any Gameboy is a go to. I have never cared for DS emulation only because of the uniqueness of the hardware having two screens. DS's are still affordable enough that you can snag an inexpensive DSi and root it. After that, I think PSPs is a good choice too given that it presents games in 16:9 so it will work with smart phones in landscape really well.

Consoles? I think your options are far and wide there. AtherX2 (PS2 emulator), at least to my knowledge is no longer in development but the compatibility is pretty good. Then you have SNES, PS1, Genesis that have a lot of RPGs to play and I think those are best suited for phones as they tend to be slower paced. N64, Saturn, and Dreamcast are just alright in my opinion, but I have not really followed the scene and depending on your device your mileage may vary. I do think the Dolphine fork for Android is in good shape so you can look into that as well.

The best console to emulate, is the one you enjoy most. ::chocobo-wave

Although personally, I think the best consoles to emulate over using properly, would probably be consoles like the Virtual Boy. Since no one should be subjected to that horrendous thing, just to play Wario Land.
