Bluesky appears to be nothing more than an alternative X/Twitter with a stricter terms of service & rumoured heightened tendency to ban users.

Whilst I don't like X/Twitter, its a site so big you can avoid the parts you don't like- especially with features that allow you to tell the algorithm that you aren't interest in certain topics or to simply not see posts from certain accounts. It operates exactly as youtube does in that respect.
Bluesky being smaller doesn't have that broad appeal or ability to avoid communities you may not enjoy engaging with and well...

Bluesky is no different from Gab (a facebook alternate) or Rumble (a youtube alternate) so I have serious doubts about bluesky's continued relevancy as time progresses.
Sure it will exist just as Gab/Rumble does but neither of those services are exactly huge or universally beloved. I only know their names because to my knowledge they are the two reactionary social media platforms that have withstood the test of time.
If you want to join a smaller community if like minded individual. Hi. This is a forum, welcome back to the pre-2007 internet.
I don't want or need more social media accounts, heck I only use facebook for the Marketplace.

God the Marketplace is irreplicable in my life.

Not to deter you from using it, but I like many others will pass on yet another dime-a-dozen social media experience.

I feel that Bluesky is fundamentally not that different from Twitter in the mindset. Especially with post-Tumblr exodus Twitter.

It's just the same kind of platform with the same kind of people and the same kind of issues that happen.

Preventing from reading replies if not logged is surely one of the worst ideas X had.

I’d agree with you but he’s blatantly supported the AFD and has suppressed people who hurt his feelings, and that’s excluding the fact that he’s cultivated a certain audience on his platform.

But either way, using this word too often removes its impact so it is potentially lessening it even if you encounter people who really are.

There is no more party existing so it cannot be an actual thing strictly speaking (aside from the "neo" kind of course).
