Dreamcast I'm looking for a Dreamcast emulator

Oh, for emulation I have a Dell Optiplex 790 Tower with a GeForce GTX 1650 OC edition GPU.
16 GB of DDR3 RAM, an i7-2600 CPU at 3.40 GHz, and a 1 TB SSD for storage.
I don't play anything past the Wii U anyway, so it works perfectly for what I want. I rarely play anything past PS2 and Dreamcast anymore. I got the computer for, I think 50 USD and I had the GPU and RAM on hand anyway.

I also bought a GIGABYTE 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular Power Supply for it.
It's a bit overkill, but I can always use it in something else if I need to. I think it was around 55 USD, give or take. ::cirnoshrug
That's nice, you can even play some modern games with that :D. In my case, I have OCD with power consumption, so I only can get small devices with low powered CPU's for playing emulators lol.

For general emulation I have a Ryzen 5300U paired with 2x8GB DDR4 and 1TB NVMe SSD. This one costed me 80€ a few months ago, but it is surprisingly fast and I can play up to Wii U.

One of my dreams is to get a mini computer with a Ryzen embedded, but they are very rare where I live, and when there is one appearing the owner is asking too much for what it is :(

Pffft, show me something modern worth playing, that's not an indie game
(and you don't need a high-powered PC for indie games)

Fair enough

That's not bad, price wise either. And it sounds like a fun little system.

I have a HP EliteDesk 705 G4 with a Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM myself (mini pc variant) I honestly hardly use it anymore either. It started out as an emulation box, but now I use it for Windows stuff I can't use Linux for.

Hello friends, I've started playing with the Dreamcast and have discovered a few good games. I just have a problem: I can't find a good emulator for Android that works properly. Is there even a good one for Android? I've tried Flycast and Reicast, but they don't work well.
try deecy and retroarchhhhhhh!!!

These computers are amazing. Internet is full of them because they are mainly for companies. Then, after these get old enough they want to get rid of them. I had one once and used it as a media player / internet browsing in my dining room for a few months, but ended changing it for a mini ITX tower, the bare minimum to build a PC with a cheap second hand dedicated GPU up to 250mm, just for playing a few modern games I like at 1080p and tons of indie games, specially horror :D.

My dream computer is the ECS Liva Q3, equipped with a Ryzen 1605B, it's the mini PC I am searching for very long but I could never get. I only saw it listed once in the second hand pages I visit, but it was overpriced :(.

looks like junk and a waste of money.

Most of the Dreamcast games work OK in Redream, even in the free options I have no problems.

What do you register as junk and a waste of money? anything that isn't a big PC tower? I am curious :O
well i frankly say mini PCs that you can install a graphics card to it like the hp elitedesk 705 as you mention before i frankly have the pc as you but i also have a 800 g3 and a g4 coming up i want to get a g6 but that's impossible on my end.

also don't install i7 6700 on a 800 g2 it'll fry without warning

You have a point here, but do not include a brand like Acer when you say ECS is a waste of money. EliteGroup is based in Taiwan as well but it's better than Acer. HP is very good, Dell is mostly good, Lenovo is a hit and miss, as they are not IBM anymore although they have some really good quality products. Mac is the pinnacle of waste of money here, Gateway I don't know it as it is very american brand and we don't have that brand here in my country, unless we are talking about different type of hardware.

In addition, most of the mini computers I've bought are chinese branded and I never had any issues. Of course they are so-so quality, but who cares as long as they are super cheap. It's just for fun :)

I have the chance of getting those SFF PC's from known good brands with really competitive prices but now I focus in the ultra low budget stuff. I have limited space and I want to get the smallest possible thing which is still usable for playing emulators. I want it to fit into my pocket, and I have really small pockets :D

well acer was just a random guess, also why would you want something that can fit in your pockets? do you want a handheld or do you want a pc to transform into a 3ds? or a psvita?

Because bringing that to my friend's house, to a place with a TV, traveling with it everywhere or using it in my parent's home is fun. Packed with a small controller you can go everywhere with it. But also at home I like small computers, it's amazing to see how powerful they can be with so small body.

It's a wonderful time to be alive :)
