PS4 I'm having PS4 overheating problems.

it's important to know how old your ps4 is. the ps4 was first released in 2013. even if your ps4 was factory sealed until you got it, it would stay have degraded to some extent, even if it's a small amount. and with the way electronics are made today and have been for the past decade or so; it should be considered a miracle that it still works as good as it does. and it is possible that you got a defective model that doesn't have a working fan.
if need be, check the vents and the fan if you can and make sure that they aren't clogged up and still function properly.
my wiiu was giving me trouble trying to stay on until i checked the little fan on the back, which had gotten stuck. without that fan going, it was a guaranteed 30 seconds from being turned on to shut off from the severe overheating from how hot that thing gets, apparently.
could have melted marshmallows on it or even cooked a hotdog with that kind of heat.

It's important to clear the fans and remove dust from inside. Eventually it's a good idea to replace the PS4 hard drive too, it's worth the upgrade too if it's from 2013.

OMy PS4 is the God of War edition that comes with the base game God of War Ragnarok. I think this edition is only released in Brazil, which is a normal PS4 slim along with the God of War Ragnarok for PS4.

O meu PS4 é a edição God of War que vem com o jogo base God of War Ragnarok. Acho que essa edição só foi lançada no Brasil, que é um PS4 slim normal junto com o God of War Ragnarok para PS4.

As someone who lives in sweltering heat and the tropics, I feel this in my bones. I've already lost my PS3 to the heat. I don't know what Sony makes these consoles out of but from what I hear online the thermal paste degrades over the years causing the CPU to overheat. If you live in tropical climates it exacerbates the effect and you can have CPU failures in a few years.

Even newer systems these days. I know someone who opened up their series s and found the thermal paste was nearly useless as it was originally, he said it was "like a burnt cookie". It might be seen as an investment to bring it to a repair shop, if they're good, have them clean and replace thermal pads and paste.

the heat in my bedroom killed some of my older consoles too. That's why i have to run the air conditioner during the summer even if i'm not in the same room. The back window gets all the heat from the sun.

If that window isn't of any particular use, take something reflective like aluminum foil, and attach it to the outside of the window. It will reflect almost all of the heat off. If that isn't an option, there are always sun-blocking curtains that can reduce about 90% of the heat.

I suggest using the aluminum foil or similar outside, to prevent the window from sweating on the inside, which can cause the window seal to rot if left damp

The Heating problem can also be caused by Dust if you don't dust of your Ps4 often as the dust tends to get trough the opening to the Fan in the Ps4 wich you can't clean normally,as you have to either open the Ps4 to clean it wich is dangerous if you don't want to break it or send it to repairs.I also have those heating Problems as my Ps4 even gets hot in rest mode and turns into a Jet Engine when I turn on Youtube on my Ps4.

As brilliant of a console as the PS4 is, it definitely has a shelf life. You can buy cheap fans that are powered from the console via the USB port, to give you extra cooling. Just try to make sure the cooler air is blowing in circulation with the hot air being expelled, and not against it.

Well I watched too much MacGyver to come up with home economics solutions by using laws of physics!!!

1) Heat is because of the vibration and how this vibration is shared. Why heat is bad is because as heat increases (the shared vibration gets intense) it disturbs the stable state of atoms so as atoms gets less stable they behave differently. For example this is why electronic devices heat up and why over time heat can "damage" the device because properties of the parts start to behave differently in a way it doesn't work as it's usually intended anymore and how extreme heat make these parts useless.

2) Hot air goes up and the air that gets colder gets down.

Home solution:

It would be wise to find an object like a metal that can absorb the heat directly from the source of the heat. The bigger this object the better it will take the heat away from the source of the heat. This is how heatsink idea works.

However the object you use to make heat away naturally will absorb the heat to itself and thus its itself will be hot. As this object gets hot it will make the air around the object heat up (whole surrounding of the object will vibrate) and this is bad. That's where fan idea comes in.

It will help to use 2 fans for this. 1st fan blowing air into the surface that has direct connection to where the object is connected to the source of the heat. 2nd fan would be helpful on make the hot air around the object get away so gotta make sure it blows the hot air around top of the object. As air around the device gets heated that air will fly up, that's why the fan that pull hot air blows in the air on top.

if it got to the point where it powers off by itself you need to bring it to a repair shop to get it cleaned and replace the thermal paste. That's what the MoneyTalkWireless guy on youtube always do when he encounters client with similar problems.
