there's a set of steps that you can perform to get a glitched up encounter with a pokemon far above the level cap [i always encountered one at lv 160] who can also duplicate 255 copies of an inem in your inventory and cause all sorts of graphical issues with the game.

in gen 1, psychic pokemon were broken. there was no special defense stat, and nothing was super effective against psychic. the special stat determined your defense against attacks of that nature, and interestingly enough, every psychic type pokemon would end up will something around 150-200 points in that stat; nearly all of the others averaged about 100, if you were lucky.

ah, that's why psychic types were broken. idk mr. mine was psychic. i didn't use internet around the time i played my original red pokemon, but i LOVED my broken Ekans I found!
