If you could, would you transfer your mind/brain into a robot body?

im not even saying there is any explanation im just laughing at the way you speak.
"furthermore" oh my GOD.
look at this next you'll say "per se" i bet thats in your vocab.
What's the problem with having a well-stocked vocabulary? You prefer people having a lower level of language and not use more advanced terms?

You wouldn't laugh at other's lingo so why do you have a problem when someone is speaking English correctly?

I am unaware if English is your native tongue but I'm currently making some efforts conversing in a foreign language.

You should try elevating your own language instead of punching down people for using terms you are unfamiliar with, that would be much better for you and the others.

You don't need scientific evidences to know the existence of yourself.
We exist in the same way animals, vegetal and fungi are existing on this planet.

Now if you want to argue that those have a soul as well it's up to debate but the lack of actual empirical research (since it's currently not possible to see the soul itself) makes it harder to do the scientific method.

We could also say that existence in itself could be debatable but this would be more on the domain of philosophy than purely science.

What about consciousness? The general consensus seems to assume that one's consciousness will automatically transfer over into data but I'm not convinced it's that simple.

For context, consider sleep-talking; it's something I have a history of doing when I'm stressed. I've held conversations with people that I have no memory of because while I could recognize the person and understand context of the conversation enough to respond in a sensible way, I was asleep the whole time. Unconscious. It's like my mind is perfectly capable of running on autopilot without me. In other words, my consciousness isn't necessary for my mind to carry out tasks I used to think I needed to there for.

Is scanning the brain and converting it into data enough to ensure that one's consciousness follows? How do we know if the end result isn't just a robot body with a mind running on autopilot? The lights are on but no one is home.
Consciousness and the presence of a soul aren't mutually exclusive. We could argue that at least one has a presence in the brain (as far as the definition of consciousness goes) which is still not entirely understood. The other is more of a metaphorical concept seen in religions and other cultural beliefs. As I said before it's not scientifically backed up.

There's also the subconscious which could be the explanation about sleep talking but then again dreams aren't entirely understood.

Nah. Even if you have a ghost-dubbing machine, it's still just a copy of my consciousness. That, and even with your original brain going full borg is like asking for cyberpsychosis.

I would pursue limited cybernetic and biological modification if I could find the right doc to do it and turn off the Neuralink DRM that can make me explode or turn me into an avatar for Elon Musk's distrubuted consciousness, though... like say having my skeleton restructured with performance materials, having a pheromone emitter so I could convince anyone to do anything for me, having a megarabies strain I'm immune to in my saliva so I could make a whole city go apeshit, having nanite emitters in my adamantine skeleton that can heal any disease or physical damage I'm subjected to, having a graphene interlaced nervous system for superhuman reflexes, having a neutron beam emitter that comes out of my eyeballs so I could make people explode into a mass of rapidly expanding tumors...

Who am I kidding? I'm already a fucking chrome junkie.

You sound like a really pleasant person to be around. /s

Yes. just to try to walk on my own. With the way tech is advancing maybe it's not entirely impossible the next few hundred years. ::winkfelix

Also, I feel I should mention a lot of cybernetics aren't science fiction anymore. There are literal bionic commandos fighting in Ukraine right now, you can get hearing aids that are implanted into your skull and are bluetooth capable, and one of my favorite YouTubers is currently building a brain in a jar that's sole purpose is to play video games. We already live in a cyberpunk dystopia.

Sorry to tell you but while I appreciate you defending me you should avoid adding oil to the fire with sarcasm, that could make things worse.

I hope they're a teen because if someone adult starts to mock someone else for using simple terms (then again I'm not a native english speaker to begin with) then I cannot really have hope for them (it could imply they don't want to learn new words or think that the language should get simplified).

Sending someone disabled to the battlefield isn't a great idea imo.

A soldier should be by definition a human being in its peak condition, as good as prosthetics could be.

I couldn't imagine someone telling "You've lost an arm in that explosion? No biggies, wear that and go back into the fight!" to their soldier in the hospital...

Most of the soldiers who have bionics installed on them volunteered to go back. Most of them have ended up doing rear-echelon type duties instead of going straight back to the front. The guy in the first pic I posted is an intelligence officer of some sort currently assigned as a PR guy of sorts. He was once captured by Russians during the Battle of Mariupol, spent five months in captivity, is missing an eye as well and is huge enough fan of MGS that he jokes that he now looks like Big Boss. He currently has a better arm installed. Like all the others I know of, he volunteered to go back in. Here's the full video I took that pic from:
Some bionics are better in some ways than natural limbs at this point, for example I believe the current Psyonic bionic hand is sturdier than a human hand but all of these things are still reliant on batteries. You really wouldn't want to lug around a bunch of batteries into combat in addition to all the other heavy shit you have to carry. But, some people are apparently crazy/badass enough to go fight with that shit.
