If you could, would you transfer your mind/brain into a robot body?

What do you mean “lead to?” :p Didn’t you get your draft papers for the Butlerian thing?
I avoid to tell the actual word because of the recent connotations unfortunately.

The original meaning just meant "effort" in Arabic but suddenly if you even dare asking where's the way in this language people become paranoid.

Anyway, we human are messing with nature enough, we shouldn't violate the very principle of life itself.

Yeah, that’s why I just called it a “thing.” Shame, cause it’s a word with good mouth feel.

Would you consider “artificial life” to be life? I would, but I’m always curious how people define “life.” Do you think a coexistence with AI is possible?

I blame media for that. It's also why I am against calling bombers using belts kamikaze because the context is different, especially for people that aren't even from Asia.

Artificial will always have a negative connotation compared to natural.

Natural oils are better than artificial for example.

Anyway, I'm not really a religious person nor a believer but we will never be able to reach the same level as nature in term of creation.

Everything we'll do is a facsimile of nature's work.

Many sci-fi stories are about how AI could overwhelm us.

The Matrix, The Terminator among many are cautionary tales.

Would you consider a birdhouse to be artificial? Or a sliver of obsidian used as a blade?

If I could become a hot anime girl, then yeah.

I'm between this and die.
But i feel that life don't offer too much to me, i think i'll go with dying and not becoming a hot female anime robot instead.

That's complicated. If I knew for 100% certainty it would be successful, I'd still be me mentally with all f my memories, I knew it would last and not have some horrible downside later on, and I still effectively had all my senses and movement and things? Possibly, but even then it'd probably need to be later in my life or if I had some horrible condition or illness or something.

If I couldn't have my senses, though? Like if I couldn't feel? Or if I was all just mental communication and couldn't do much physically? Sounds like pure hell.

Do you think that a new form of discrimination against natural/cyborgs could exist in the future?

Also I feel that there's a chance that the Butlerian [arabic word for "struggling"] could be a thing if machines takes a major place in society.

Have you heard about the Ship of Theseus paradox?

dude heck naw, id end up like a synth in fallout 4, i am NOT joining the railroad

Maybe when I grow old. I enjoy physical touch and certain uhhh activities too much, Looking like Dr. Wheelo could be pretty sweet.

Hm... I think I would if I ever face any major difficulties with coordination or mobility, otherwise, not really.

Life in many aspects is a sort of curse, eternal life sounds like a never-ending hell, so that's a no.

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel.

As someone without any attachment to my mortal shell, I can understand.

Yes a much better option than what Dr. Gero ended up going with.

Who said anything about forever? That wasn't even implied. A robot body would eventually be scrapped. If anything, you would probably have a shorter lifespan. :P Also, you would need constant maintenance, even more than the biological one you inhabit now. And god forbid some mice gets inside and chew on your brain connection. Or the hydraulics system!

I think robots get romanticized. But we do tend to forget that machines age. Your refrigerator won't run forever and neither will your robot body. But I'm all for bionic parts to help with disabilities. But an entire robot body? No thank you.

I think its more about once you are able to "become digital", then you have gotten past the difficult part, and transferring from one machine to another would be an "easier" task in comparison. So yes, while the machine your digital self is manipulating would be susceptible to wear and tear due to being a physical object exposed to the elements, your digital self would transfer to a new machine if one is available, just as you initially did from your original corporeal self.

Still a no but I gotta say if I did become a robot I’d probably be like Aunt Fanny

Once again just like 2005 Robots

Nah, too much work, let me die as a human and that be the end, I don’t need to worry about anything much more than that.

Only if I could automatically play any guitar tabs afterwards
