If you could "port" one genre of game to retro hardware, what would it be?

This is strictly hypothetical for now, but if you had the chance to create a homebrew game for retro hardware right now, in a modern genre, what type of game would you make and on what hatdware?

I see a lot of demake type games in the Soulslike genre, including some actual PS1 ISOs.

Personally I'm working on an asteroid mining simulator for 32X. Think less Darxide and more of an Elite Dangerous mining loop with enemy pressure and ship upgrades.

I'd love to hear what anyone has to say and who knows, maybe someday some dev will find this thread and make it real...

If they can do the impossible then try port the Witcher 3 and Rdr2 on a ps1 because I am very curious how wil they do the open world on ps1

Or ps2 it more power.

Off the top of my head maybe Left Alive, it’s a super misunderstood gem and I’d love to see the snow look like mizzurna falls and HQ cutscenes like FFVIII while hearing Lacrymosa.

Edit: oops I forgot to say in psx or snes style :p

Nothing. I don't want to corrupt beautiful world of retro games with new ideas.
