If you could have a conversation with your teenage self...

I'd say hello first because teenage Octopus never would have, we'd probably get into a very awkward discussion about heavy metal and comic books filled with awkward pauses because neither of us can carry an IRL conversation (both avoiding eye contact the whole time), maybe I'd show him some games from the future or something I think he'd like that. I'd definitely tell him to get into writing courses in college, if only for the networking advantages, or at least try to take writing seriously way earlier. When I leave I'd probably try and say something deep and poignant, but then overthink it and just say like "yo, you should...keep it up kid?" and we'd both be uncomfortable. I'll leave, then he would probably just go back to playing Baldur's Gate or something and not know what to make of what just happened as it's a little bizarre.

I'd tell myself not to bother asking out my best friend's sister and proposing to her 3 years later cuz as soon as I went into the military... she wrapped her legs around someone else.

Your goals are not dumb.
You don’t need to conform to norms that make you miserable.
You should probably study a bit harder though, it’ll save you a year of school as an adult.
You aren’t your weaknesses.

Oooff. Ok. Look, you're a girl. You are not a pervert, you are not a mistake. You can and you will one day be happy. But. You can't do anything about it now. Theres a woman you need to get into a relationship with and you two will have a kid. Your son. It will not be a good relationship, you two are terrible for each other but he is worth the pain. Split after he is is born, work out shared custody and put on a damned skirt. You are entirely correct about the people who will cut you out of their lives and it winds up being to your benefit. Also, maybe don't throw away that SGI Indigo2...

Do you do tarot readings ?_?
...I'll save up a little for a consultation...

Like do perform them for others (no), or have I gotten a reading (yes)?
Both (would I say?). I apologize.
However, for just one moment, I thought you were reading to someone,
because the explanation is very well done and accurate (for a reading) o_o;

id tell him to get in the military earlier than i did, "trust me kid, those years working desk jobs at offices aint gonna do you any good and you gonna become a smokerdome lurker one way or another" lol

other than that... to enjoy my hobbies as hobbies, or extra income at mosssst. trying to turn my hobbies into my means of survival was a painful way to spend my early 20's and with the mind i have nowadays, it was not worth it at all... aint nothing like your favorite hobby waiting for you at home after a long day's work. For a while i robbed myself of that privilege.

last one never give up having kids! of course dont rush it but never give up. will be worth it.

Don't be afraid to follow your dreams.
If you have something on your mind that you wanna do/learn then do it.
Nobody's stopping you.

Tell him to finish the damn warcraft 3 mod dumbass and enjoy his time when he is 14-16 cuz he ain't gonna get that freedom again for the next couple years I would say my faults and failures shaped and forged me today but if I had to tell him something its to workout as soon as possible and get violent more often in school instead of being a pushover huuuuh but this is how it is there is sadly no loading the previous save IRL otherwise I would save scum everything but maybe its for the better?

"Stop skipping lunch only to snack on Doritos when you get home. You're wrecking your PM class grades and your health. No-one will mock you for eating lunch."

"You know that bully? Call him on it, in class, in front of the teacher. Don't wait until you're a senior."

"You do really well at getting your homework done while still at school - this proves you're intelligent. Now you need to learn proper quiet study habits - mother is directly sabotaging this by demanding constant companionship for TV rot."

"If you ever find yourself going under-the-knife but the person doing the cutting is supposed to have a surgeon overseeing them, FULL STOP. The one doing the cutting isn't a surgeon but a student, and the surgeon won't be in the room. INSIST on having the actual surgeon work on you, get it in writing signed-and-dated, and keep a camera running to ensure it. ESPECIALLY if it's in Oregon as the Governor is a surgeon himself and will push & sign legislation to protect his friends from rightful medical malpractice lawsuits."

"If a girl approaches you to ask you out, there's about a 10% chance that it's not a trick so she and the popular girls can mock you."

To say it...
Keep enjoying life as you have done, without losing that smile.
And recommend that he stay away from those friends he has met and tell him who to never trust, and after all, to keep researching, so that he can continue with his goals in life...
I actually like that.

Its a fulfilling job for the most part but there are days I get home thinking to myself: "Man, I hate kids"
Sorta the same for me as a pedagogue. I love most of the kids most of the time, and the kindness and love they reciprocate is worth its weight in gold - with that I don't mind one but that I'm not driving a lamborgini - but a few of the kids, the ones who are... challenged... can be a handfuld. But most of all it hurts me when they are mean to each other.

One day a boy (4 years old) who had absolutely no sympathy for anyone (all us adults breathed in relief when he went home for the day), started taking a series of neatly lined up decorations the other kids had made... and began throwing them AT the other kids with blatant force.

It's one thing that he tried to hurt them, but breaking the stuff they had made, when he himself got upset the other day when someone ACCIDENTALLY tore one of his drawings... that shit brings my shit to a boil. Like, you can dish it out hommie, but ya sure can't take it. It is fine breaking others stuff, but when they break yours on accident ya break down? You're gonna have problems when you grow up.
