PC I want to build a monster gaming PC

Not exactly a monster, well, probably monster hardware instead.
2025 WirForce Public Exhibition: I showcased the Hatsune Miku console made by me and Huang Xiaojie, interpreting the character Hatsune through the theme of "Evolution." It originally evolved from software into a physical form as it is now, and the "process" incorporates elements of Cyber biotech to interpret this theme, using a large number of mecha parts, computer hardware, etc., to depict the main axis of software "evolving" into hardware.

Kinda interested in this thread. My current PC was put together with friend's older parts. It still plays almost anything I throw at it, but it's showing its age. What are some decent builds that'll hold up?

My last rig was a pre-build tbh. At the time, video cards were going nuts and it was the only economical way to get them.

These days I do most of my PC gaming on a 2019 gaming laptop or my handheld PC rather than a full-blown desktop. It takes up way less power and room to go portable at this point.

Yes, the prices are a bit ridiculous. But who knows, there's always something cheaper. And I don't have to have the most expensive one.
you have to hit the pavement really, depending what games you want to play so as to not end with a white elephant. Eg even with a monster pc, you will not be able to max Arma 3.

I would choose a budget and then use PC Part Picker.
If you want to future-proof your device, buy a motherboard that supports DDR5 RAM.

I built my PC in 2023 with parts I bought on Black Friday -

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x
GPU: Radeon 7700XT
32GB DDR4 RAM

I can play almost anything in 4K, on high settings (not maxed out, but it's good enough for me!)

Ok that's sounds good, thanks my friend.

You're certainly not going to like the current RAM prices...
Sadly it's not like consoles won't feel this too, so tbh, the entire gaming industry is gonna feel it.
I've decided to build myself a real monster gaming PC next year. Show me what kind of PC or gaming PC you have! 💻 🖥️
Can't really "show" you my pc, but i can give you it's specs.

Ryzen r5 2600x
16gb DDR4 RAM
Garuda Linux
MSI b450 pro carbon AC motherboard
Sapphire rx 6700 (non xt) GPU
Intel 1tb SSD
Seagate Exos 18tb HDD (media storage and emulation)
Coursair RMx 850w psu
Phanteks enthroo pro case

My main bottleneck is my cpu, currently debating buying a new am4 cpu and waiting out the ram shortage, which is estimated to last possibly as much as 2-3 years with prices likely high for as much as a decade (which i doubt i'll be interested in modern gaming in 10 years), or biting the bullet ASAP on ddr5 ram and getting the mobo and cpu later next year.

That's good too, thank you.

because my main focus is emulation and my current game library as I stopped buying aaa games few years ago, current setup leaves me satisfied.

Perfect for 1440 resolutions (2560 or 3440):

kept the monitor, a still very good Asus Rog pg348q with Gsync module, perfect for keep in sync Mame arcade games.

CPU is a mid-range i5 245k. Though for single threaded performance needed for emulation it is on top 10. Up to 5 GHz stock frequency.

RAM is 32gb DDR5, clocked at 5600 mhz.

gpu is mid-range 560 rtx ti 16 gb. Maxes most games at 1440 at 100 hz, which is the monitor frequency. Or else I'd have opted for a better gpu.

PSU is a Corsair modular 750 watt gold model.

Kept the old hard disks and installed windows on a m2 ssd.

So while not a monster pc for aaa games, it is a monster pc for emulation, outperforming the best AMD CPUs in that field. It is also better for content creation.

Or else for AAA games, I'd picked AMD. There isn't a definite monster pc

So now things are getting serious. I've bought a desktop PC. I don't know the brand but you can take the device apart however you want and now I'm going to put it back together to make a gaming PC. Thank goodness Amazon didn't let me down this time and delivered everything I wanted.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X https://amzn.to/43aVXY6
Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC https://amzn.to/3JKa1kP
RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 3200MHz 32GB (4 x 8GB) https://amzn.to/4owYKn5
GPU: MSI Shadow 3X GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC (16GB GDDR7) https://amzn.to/4nAYAtu

I've also included the Amazon link; maybe someone else needs it too. I'm not quite finished yet but the PC is working reasonably well.
