2025 WirForce Public Exhibition: I showcased the Hatsune Miku console made by me and Huang Xiaojie, interpreting the character Hatsune through the theme of "Evolution." It originally evolved from software into a physical form as it is now, and the "process" incorporates elements of Cyber biotech to interpret this theme, using a large number of mecha parts, computer hardware, etc., to depict the main axis of software "evolving" into hardware.

Kinda interested in this thread. My current PC was put together with friend's older parts. It still plays almost anything I throw at it, but it's showing its age. What are some decent builds that'll hold up?

idk much about gaming PCs but I can tell you I can run everything at max settings on at least 1440p. I just have a prebuilt HP computer that I got an sale a few years ago.

My last rig was a pre-build tbh. At the time, video cards were going nuts and it was the only economical way to get them.

These days I do most of my PC gaming on a 2019 gaming laptop or my handheld PC rather than a full-blown desktop. It takes up way less power and room to go portable at this point.

Yes, the prices are a bit ridiculous. But who knows, there's always something cheaper. And I don't have to have the most expensive one.

That reminds me of an old post I saw years and years ago now a dude built a whole anime girl out of Styrofoam but it was also a PC case. Sadly I can´t find the post but man the pictures where cool as hell.

Yes, the prices are a bit ridiculous. But who knows, there's always something cheaper. And I don't have to have the most expensive one.

you have to hit the pavement really, depending what games you want to play so as to not end with a white elephant. Eg even with a monster pc, you will not be able to max Arma 3.

If you want to future-proof your device, buy a motherboard that supports DDR5 RAM.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x
GPU: Radeon 7700XT
32GB DDR4 RAM

I can play almost anything in 4K, on high settings (not maxed out, but it's good enough for me!)

Sadly it's not like consoles won't feel this too, so tbh, the entire gaming industry is gonna feel it.

16gb DDR4 RAM
Garuda Linux
MSI b450 pro carbon AC motherboard
Sapphire rx 6700 (non xt) GPU
Intel 1tb SSD
Seagate Exos 18tb HDD (media storage and emulation)
Coursair RMx 850w psu
Phanteks enthroo pro case

My main bottleneck is my cpu, currently debating buying a new am4 cpu and waiting out the ram shortage, which is estimated to last possibly as much as 2-3 years with prices likely high for as much as a decade (which i doubt i'll be interested in modern gaming in 10 years), or biting the bullet ASAP on ddr5 ram and getting the mobo and cpu later next year.
