Thank you Spike-sama for doing you part in preserving such an important library, keep the train going :3
Pretty sure it’s serious. Op seems genuine. Are you... being sarcastic? The title is very passive agressive...
You can love a genre and still recognize that others look down on it. Sounds like the poster was being tongue in cheeks about loving the library. Are you... being sarcastic? The title is very passive aggressive...
Sony never meke fanservicey anime games, well in ps1 the make a Lot of generic rpgis anime gamesMeanwhile current day sony trying to get people to play fugly, dogwater western games. They should tear down the american headquarters and go back to anime games.
This feels weird to say considering most of the "anime slop" on Vita was 3rd party and Sony themselves have never had that many IP closely associated with traditional anime aesthetics. They exist, but they're not at all the norm. I dislike the output of Modern Sony for my own reasons but "fugly" isn't the word I'd use to describe them at all nor would there really be many "anime" type IP for them to go back to.Meanwhile current day sony trying to get people to play fugly, dogwater western games. Yeah, the middle market for video games has been in a weird spot for the last decade and losing systems that you could develop for on a tighter budget like handhelds certainly doesn't help. There are still plenty of dope things releasing, but man oh man the scene is a bit of a shadow of its former self in many ways.SLOP THOUGH IT MAY BE, I do somewhat lament the days when "video game based on anime series" could mean more than "generic third-person arena brawler". The Vita was probably the last time when "anime", in the context of video games, referred to a medium that was being adapted, not a genre in its own right.
This is fucking perfect. Bookmarking this reply. The Senran Kagura Burst commercials kinda describes this entire thread perfectly.
There was definitely a point where they become perfunctory updates, I was tallying some things from Steam categories and didn't realize they counted Anime as it's own section. Browsing it was...whatever the opposite of inspiring is, dispiriting?SLOP THOUGH IT MAY BE, I do somewhat lament the days when "video game based on anime series" could mean more than "generic third-person arena brawler". I'm really dense, like really really dense, like once a girl was outwardly flirting with me and I didn't even notice it until some one said she was interested in me...Pretty sure it’s serious. Op seems genuine.
Oh don’t let it get to you. My comment wasn’t that serious.Look man, when I hacked my Vita and gave Senran Kagura a chance, I legit was shocked by how in depth and well tought out the combat was, completly took me by surprise!

I mean, Idea Factory and Compile Heart are still releasing new Neptunia games (I think the latest one was a remake). Okay sure, that crossover with Senran Kagura was kinda shite, but nevermind...they were both born as niche franchises made for a specific audience, I'm surprised they managed to get as popular as they did.As fun as meming on Vita Slop is, s someone who is a Neptunia enjoyer(even watching the anime with my wife lately lol), these games died out for a reason. They just simply do not sell as well. We can say the west is prudish or whatever, but companies like Idea Factory are nearly bankrupt due to the slop just not selling.
This is pretty true of most musou games tbh. None of em are gonna challenge the kings of the castle in terms of depth or anything, but if you're cranking up the difficulty or just experimenting with the mechanics there is a decent amount of style that can keep you entertained.Look man, when I hacked my Vita and gave Senran Kagura a chance, I legit was shocked by how in depth and well tought out the combat was, completly took me by surprise!
Oh ok, sorry about insinuating other wise.Oh, by the way, I'm 100% serious about loving the Vita library. All 8 Nep games, all the Senran games, all the Atelier games, the Akiba games, Omega Labyrinth, and counting :3
All good friend, also, extremely based Meteor pfp :>Oh ok, sorry about insinuating other wise.
