I've been playing retro games my whole life and I love them. They're from a time when financial incentive was much lower so creative freedom was much higher.
But I'm getting tired of them. As I play PC Engine and SNES and Saturn games more and more, I keep finding little flaws and annoyances. I don't wanna burn myself out.

SO. Since next year I'm starting college anyway, and I won't have time for playing on Retroarch all day anymore, and I'm generally tired of retro gaming, I decided to do something interesting:

I've archived my Retroarch install and I'm not gonna touch it (or my retro consoles) until 2035. Until them all I can play is modern games and remakes of old games.
I'm doing this so as to expel myself from my comfort zone and force me to play things I never would, and also so that when I finally return to ol' reliable it feels fresh again.

Wish me luck!

Feel free to pursue whatever you wish, though I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it doesn't work out as planned.

Keep in mind that modern games can sometimes be a bigger headache. In the meantime, the appeal of retro games will likely make a comeback. Personally, I think you should enjoy whatever feels right at the moment and not rule anything out.

You poor soul may your suffering be short.
😩 Playing no games and reading books or watching movies would be a better choice than playing most modern games and demakes em sorry I meant of course remakes.
But hey each there own some people want to put bleach into there eyes for whatever reason I suppose but I get it everyone gets burned out even from Retro Games but like I said books or movies are a better choice in my opinion in that regard.

I'd recommend you to play some new and old indie games and some moderately old AAA games. Don't bother with most games which exceed 150GB because not all of that is spent on good and meaninful content. And they're also really expensive.

This sounds miserable.
Yeah, it's gonna be a pain to play those HORRIBLE modern games like Expedition 33, Silent Hill F, the new Bloodstaind... those will be PAINFUL to play

Someone gets it XD retro games are too much fun, they leave no time for studying the textbooks

I'm gonna do the opposite. Nothing modern until 2035!
That sounds sick too! It depends on what you're used to.
And they're also really expensive.
