Do the cheat codes work on this version?

aint this the same thing as the beetle?? 😭

But the original game is 60 Hz since it is a NTSC release. 60 Hz patches (not to be confused with 60 FPS) are made for PAL games because most of them run slower than their US/Japan counterparts.

Unless I'm missing something.
Oh, uhm. . . Well , now I feel stupid. My bad, sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello blue haired anime girl, can you do me a solid? Is it maybe possible for you to provide a 60hz patched file for the base game as well? This would make me temporarily very happy. =3

Yeah and look at how well that did the game. Practically unheard of. Then releasing x2 different versions of the game but one with only Beetle cars and the other with only hsv.

Was this company just stupid? Could they only design 1 model of car because they had zero design skill.
A racing game with only 1 type of car seems utterly stupid even on paper....but to actually spend the money on then producing that....
let's see...
"Beetle Adventure Racing received "universal acclaim" according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[7] In Japan, where the game was ported and published by Electronic Arts Square on November 26, 1999, Famitsu gave it a score of 28 out of 40.[11]
(...)
Beetle Adventure Racing sold over 320,000 units in the United States.[24] According to senior producer Hanno Lemke, its sales numbers were small relative to other EA products, which he blamed on its "terrible box art and a virtually non-existent marketing presence”, as well as high competition from other racing games on the Nintendo 64.[6]"
For comparison, that makes it a top 100 best seller on the console, at position 98 worldwide and 91 US

If i remember it correctly, this and beetle adventure was originally intended to be a Need For Speed game. I think i read somewhere that there are left over files in the rom with need for speed mentioned in them. Could be wrong though.

EDIT: I was partially correct.
"Need for Speed 64
NFS64 Fade Art
Need for Speed 64[2], a 64-bit entry in the series for the Nintendo 64 was being developed in 1998 by Paradigm Entertainment alongside EA Canada.

The project altered during development into Beetle Adventure Racing! after EA signed a deal with Volkswagen to create a game around the New Beetle[3] and HSV Adventure Racing! in Australia with Holden Special Vehicles." From the NFS wikia at fandom.

thanks for this! Great little game, the original being Beetles only is objectively a little lame but the game is so fun that lameness circles back around to being iconic. But I'll be glad to have a different set of cars available here!

I guess it's because the game is called Beetle Adventure Racing and not Various Car Models Adventure Racing

Awesome! I love this version. I don't even know the brand but I find the New Beettle very uninteresting so having a version of this great racer with just a "regular car" is awesome.

Make an arcade racing game...but only put in 1 specific car type....why?

Could these devs only make 1 type of car back then
