This sounds like a nice lighthearted interlude until the story moves in a different direction, as was Astra's story stuff after the first story arc. Hopefully they actually go in a different direction and away from the Exaltist stuff. I'd love to get more of the vibes of launch ZZZ but it seems unlikely that will happen.

Solid reruns. I have both of them and their weapons so I'll be saving up my polychromes. I decided to spend money on the current event so I could grab Jane Doe as the free agent, plus her weapon. I also got Alice's weapon and Sanby off the guaranteed banners with the monochromes I bought. That's likely the first and last time I'll dolphin for one of these games. I'd still like to get Yanagi at some point but otherwise my teams feel pretty solid now.

HSR 4.0 livestream summary

Edit: Much like the Jane Doe outfit in ZZZ 2.5, This outfit is free.

Thanks for the update, I haven't been logging into HSR much lately. Definitely will to grab a free 5 star. Probably Kafka, I don't have a solid lightning character. Sparkles seems fun too. I'm still in Penacony story-wise, someday I'll get back to it.

The new ZZZ update is out, I'm curious where the story is going. Hopefully they lean more into the inherent chaos and mystery of the Ethereals and Hollows, instead of yet more chaos caused by humans. Maybe they will get back to the mystery of Fairy and the other super-advanced AIs and where they came from.

I liked the newest ZZZ stuff. Yeah, the twee idol stuff is a little forced, but the story feels like it's back to the original roots. A focus on city life, weird AIs, there are even a couple small optional commissions. They introduced a bunch of characters too that will presumably be important in season 3.

They put a lot of effort into these character trailers. I don't feel like they are always accurate, though. Dialyn wasn't nearly as unhinged and Danganronpa-esque as her trailer made it seem like she'd be. They are still fun regardless, Sparxie seems neat. Is Sparxie the same as Sparkles or are they different?

I got Kafka for my free 5 star, I had just gotten Cyrene the last time I pulled but figured I'd go for a 10 pull. Somehow I got 2 A ranks, Fu Xuan, and Black Swan in the same 10 pull. If only I had that kind of luck with ZZZ.

Ohhh boy. I might bite on the collector's edition, depending on the price. It seems ironic that a free-to-play game is coming out with a physical version for Xbox, yet more and more of the Xbox-published first-party games like Avowed don't have physical Xbox versions.

I definitely want Nangong, and I also really want Yidhari's weapon, it feels like she just isn't doing a lot of damage and getting the weapon would fix it. Kinda nuts it took us so long to get an Ether Stun character, although it seems like Nangong will be kinda half-Stun half-Anomaly.

Are the Angels of Delusion more or less the ZZZ mascots for the time being? The presentation with all the upcoming info was interspersed with one of their "livestreams", which is not a bad idea. I'm not looking forward to what kind of sounds like a rehash of power-hungry one-dimensional villains wanting to control things for vague reasons, but the rest of the sneak peek stuff seemed a little more like the first season of ZZZ, which is nice. Glad to see Billy getting some screentime, hopefully the Hares and Belobog get involved too.

I appreciate the art and music style for these games, but I cannot get into gacha at all. I tried ZZZ, and stopped after two weeks.
Nikke is the only game that holds my attention that has gatcha mechanics. Play it enough though and you won't be paying for anything in the game. This is a game that you can genuinely play through without paying by grinding in the typical RPG sense.

Overlooked as a gooner game, much like stellar blade, it's actually a great game with great music and great lore. The only phone game I play. I've been playing it since the chainsaw man crossover.

I did give Honkai star rail a go, it was quite good, seems to be a single player turn based RPG with gatcha mechanics but I won't let myself get attached to good RPG game if there's a chance it that it's just going to be taken down and not made playable anymore, because it's permanently online, I won't touch diablo 4 for simialr reasons.

It's also just a fun nod to Galaxy express 999 with it's premise of a train in space. Star rail is good but if there ever choose to do a balanced offline one off purchasable version, I'll buy it

I also got screwed over by not picking a relatively OP character as a freebie at the start and I was around 20 hours in. They had her in the party 20 minutes later temporarily and she really buffed the starting party. I lost my chance to have her permanently without serious grinding or payola.

Glad to know, but gacha does nothing for me in general, and my gaming schedule is way too busy to even bother considering. I am happy you found something you can enjoy and has good gameplay.

Honestly I've tried out a couple of these titles before but never found anything that made it worth my while sticking around.

It's not specifically the gatcha nature of the game, but more to do with the constant need to add new characters and storylines instead of delving into any of the interesting characters they already have, because its necessitated by the business model.

Seems decent enough to be sure, but it also seems like the sort of style, tone, characters, storyline, and gameplay that has all been handled better elsewhere before.

That's a fair criticism of gachas. Even when they introduce characters earlier on before they are the banner/main character of the current story arc, it can feel very much like "hero of the month". It would be nice if they had older characters involved more, though that does tend to happen with side events. Still, if there is a serious crisis occurring, why wouldn't I hit up my old allies to also help, instead of only relying on my new ones?

I haven't been keeping up with Hoyo for quite a while now but I'm kinda curious. Is there a Bronya or Kiana and Mei in ZZZ as of now? I know that it's kind of a running gag that these ladies are the Nexus beings of Hoyoverse if you will. and the Music is still great I assume. And the concerts they do are great too!

I used to play Honkai 3rd for about 3 years on and off. remains the only gacha I've played for the longest time.

Not familiar with the other two listed, as for Bronya, the closest comparison is probably Miyabi. Both are serious, dutiful, and heir to a family legacy, though Miyabi is more impractical, socially awkward, and views everything through a perspective of training. So...not really I guess.

Is there a very similar character to Bronya in Honkai Impact 3rd?

Yeah, I could be wrong but I think the Bronyaception started in Honkai Gakuen(Gun Girls Z 1 and 2) and HI3. ::winkfelix

I've played a bit of Zenless Zone Zero, it's surprisingly good, though a lot of exposition for my taste. Wasn't keen on Bootleg Impact but gave it a fair chance.
