I just can't stand the smell of tobacco and, especially here, weed. If you want to do it, by all means, but keep it the F away from me.

After that I left it for marijuana, eventually became addicted to that. I left marijuana a couple of months ago but my last relationship made me a tabaco addict. I just got back from smoking one. I do not recommend it but it keeps me a bit sane these days.

Nah I don't touch tobacco. I don't really touch any psychoactive save for the meds I take and caffeine. Addiction has destroyed the lives of many of my loved ones so I can't ever risk it.

I should've specified that in my post that I more referred to both physical and psychological addiction. Naturally feeling super grumpy when you don't get your fix of coffee or weed pales in comparison to experiencing some of the worst pain possible until you get your opiate fix. About that latter part, congrats man. How long have you been clean if you don't mind me asking? If it's too personal you don't have to tell.

3ish years. I'm not one of those guys who count the days or anything, as being clean got a lot easier after I got on the proper head meds, so it's not difficult for me anymore. I don't ever look back on that fondly.

it was more of a "damn I love playing videogames high af" but then I couldn't play them without it, so I became dependent on it to enjoy things.

Wow, you guys are pretty metal and blue at the same time....

My story feels so mundane compared to that. I was actually interested in it, but never got around to start. When I was young, I spent too much money on online games together with my close friend (also my gf now). When I was in university, I got too hooked on baking after winning a bet with her, against her brick cake. I had to work part-time to cover my baking cost and the baking course I took. But hey, at least I'm a certified baker now! After dating her, since last January, I overheard her talking on the phone and said she doesn't hate it, but she doesn't really like the smell of tobacco either.

That's why, I just don't want to start smoking now, lmao. Pretty lame, huh?

I feel lucky, though. I probably won't have enough money to take baking course had I started smoking when given the chance. It probably won't make any difference career-wise, but it sure as hell feels like it'd make a huge difference in my mindset, lifestyle, and mental health. Feeling proud of my bread every morning helped me go through tough times, as silly as it sounds. And getting allowed to help with baking for the church, despite not being a deacon, makes me proud of myself (... which is bad, because pride, you know lol, but God please forgive me)

I've tried some things of course, smoke gets stuck in your clothes though, *so* annoying to get out. Also who has the money? I already needed two jobs after high school to cover rent, adult life never seemed to accommodate a vice.
