Hot takes

It's too late, I've drawn myself as the Chad and you as the Soyjak, I win the internet argument!
NOOOOOOO! That way now i am wrong without objetive defenses!

(Thing you hate) is actually good.
I've seen a ton of essays about how something that isn't popular (or usually panned) is "actually genius"...

The Castlevania 64 games are actually really good.
Final Fantasy 5,7,9 and the dissidia PSP games are the only good ones.
GTA's open worlds are boring as hell.
Uncharted and the last of us was never good.
The New assassin's Creed formula is way better then the old one same for the new Zelda games.
Modern action games take way to much inspiration from dark souls, i played stellar blade the other day and it just felt like a easier dark souls. Not that dark souls is bad, elden ring though...yeah not a big fan.
I'll fight you in the street for slighting Final Fantasy 6 ::smash

Punk gets better with the prefix "pop-" or "skate-" added to it, not worse.

Also the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy sucks and is quite frankly a huge insulting disgrace to its predecessors (the OG EVA TV series and duology of films) on the same level as the Star Wars Sequel trilogy

I think pineapple on pizza is good!
I wholeheartedly agree

My hot take?

"Thread Necro'ing" is a good thing. Conversations can always have more input added from new people...suspending or penalizing folks for wanting to add to a conversation is really crazy, imo. I'll never understand the anger it causes.

Yeah, I get it if it's just some newb going "GIB LINKS PLOX" but if it's a legit query or addition to the topic, why be mad? Just my two cents.
Agree

The fact that streaming services release entire seasons at once flat out hurts the products they are trying to deliver by eliminating all speculation and doing away with any possible curveballs before they can even be thrown. That's why so many otherwise promising shows get shelved after a season or two... the hype is lost to exhaustion.
I know this is an older post but I wanted to throw something in:
Say what you will about Hazbin Hotel, but they go down the route of releasing two episodes a week for each season, usually meaning the entire season of about 8 episodes is released over the span of a month. It's a really sound strategy - I imagine there's probably a few other shows that do this, but this was the first example I could think of.

Stargate SG-1 is better than Star Trek and Star Wars combined.

I could agree about Star Wars but Star Trek is a much bigger debate.

Found this post and joined just to leave my opinion. I have never been a huge fan of Retroarch mostly due to it continously being broken on the devices I've used it on. Changing the configuration for me is very tedious and often lead to crashes. It's a shame as I would like to try out RetroAchievements but really prefer standalone emulators and truly believe they just simply offer more.

Sometimes I have uses with RetroArch, like playing with original controllers connected to PC and launching it via Steam. But otherwise, I find RetroArch annoying and fiddly to use. Sometimes it doesn't save the settings I configured and pull my hair out re configuring it. I usually prefer standalone emulators in most cases

Nice avatar lol.

Retroarch is made for Emulator boxes connected to a television and controlled by a controller.
It's terrible for playing emulators on a PC. Maybe if they focused an ounce of effort for fixing mouse support inside retroarch it would be worth using on PC. I can't understand why the UI is so terrible on PC.

Or just make the desktop mode actually function properly, yes it has one outside of the wierd controller menu one, but good luck getting it to work right, it's like it was written by AI.

Retroarch is trash, it performs way worse than any dedicated emulator and is also incredible hard to set up and use.

I wanna hear your opinions about how I'm wrong and stupid
Wrong and stupid?????? What on earth are you on lol I hate RetroArch too because of the same reasons you've provided. Standalone emulators have just enough fidelity to get ne around and about and its always something that I like doing more than just having to configure specific emulator stuff within a hub for emulators alike.

I think RetroArch has it's place and is very useful for just being the centre of your emulation, but I've always loved how it's so cool that you can change settings per emulator, and I've always disliked using standalone emulators and not being able to tweak everything to my liking. That's my actual opinion.

Personally i prefer Bizhawk when i need a multi-platform emulator, but yeah, sometimes it's more convenient to just use standalone emulators.
