People just don't want to admit that they're watching stuff that's made for kids and teens
I do agree that's a symptom of the "it has to be ironic" age we live in.

I don't think it is shameful to enjoy something made for kids and teens.

That's the way to think :) But you'd be surprised to see how many people go "um actually dragon ball isn't for kids because it has blood!!!1" in an attempt to make it sound more mature than it is.

My hot take is that Dragon Ball Super is probably the worst arc of the series. They completely butchered Goku's personality in this one. I mean, he wasn't smart before but he took things seriously and planned strategies to win the battles he was facing. Now he just act like a overconfident child. Most of the fights are boring and predictable. And the art of the first season it's just atrocious.
In other words, Super is doo doo.

I thought this was common, but I guess people warmed up to it by the end? I remember being really disappointed by it.
Super Saiyan Blue is sexo though. And it gave us canon Gogeta and good Broly down the line so I'm happy for that at least.

It was, then ultra instinct happened and people forgot about all the rest. That's my theory lol. Yeah, it's true about Super Saiyan blue and Broly. Very sexo indeed.

Yotsuba& is the best manga that exists
Sakura from Naruto gets to much hate
True, never understood the hate towards Sakura. The only thing bad is how poorly the author writes her, she gets sidetracked nearly every time.

Every time that anyone says nobara ( jujutsu kaisen ) is better than Sakura I want to commit war crimes

I think anime watcher today is too busy whining about anime they hate instead of actually TRY looking for a show that they like. ::winkfelix

There, that's quite a hot take, don't y'all agree?

Evangelion isn't actually that good. It's thematically really cool and cool to look at. I'm a sucker for biblical symbols so ooh spooky crosses. I think all of the characters are pretty miserable, but them being terribly flawed is the point.
I'm glad someone else gets it, I do love Eva, but it's not as good as people praise it to be.

Super is the perfect example of how milking the cow too much is a bad idea. It's probably even worse than GT, if that's possible.

Sakura from Naruto gets to much hate
Agree, even if early kin the manga she was a bit useless compared to the other kunochi, lately she starts to show how strong she really is, especially in Shippuuden, the true Tsunade's successor.

Another controversial opinion I have is that Dai Dark is an incredibly disappointing and mediocre manga that doesn't hold a candle to Q Hayashida's previous work (Dorohedoro).

Probably biased, but with all due respect, as someone who has admittedly read the Bleach manga several times, it doesn't feel right to list it with a bunch of these other series, mostly because it actually does write multi-dimensional characters imo. But this is coming from me, whose favorite arc of the series is the one with the least focus on fighting and more of a manifestation of the worst thoughts I have due to anxiety and being SUPER character-focused. I will not deny that Ichigo isn't OP. He is due to being a mixed strawberry-flavored cocktail of every type of thing introduced in the series, but at the same time, he does have internal conflicts related to his mother's death. Also, his motivation is less about saving the world and more about being able to protect those he cares about. Plus, this is also the same series where the one main villain becomes immortal and has to be sealed away (NOT by Ichigo mind you) because he can't die.

Also, I'm pretty sure Luffy's motivation is not saving the world but to become King of the Pirates. Literally one of his most famous quotes is "Ore ga kaizoku ou ne naru!".

I'm not going to deny that what you said applies to Naruto because that series did go downhill pretty quickly.

I'm sorry if I come off a bit mean, that isn't my intention, but at the same time what you said feels a bit like a gross oversimplification from someone who never actually read any of the series mentioned.

I will not deny, there ARE definitely shonen series that are exactly what you're describing, but it just kind of feels off to me to write off everything as that.

The 'filler' season of Full Metal Panic was the best one.
If you're talking about Fumoffu, yes. Fumoffu is wonderful and more people need to experience it and the wonders of Bonta-kun.

Alright, now for an actual hot take I have. Gintama is better as a battle series than an actual comedy. When it's funny, it is extremely funny, but when it's at its worst, it drags on whatever joke it's telling for way too long to the point where it's no longer funny and I just want to yell "ALRIGHT, I GET IT, CAN WE JUST MOVE ON ALREADY!?"

Elfen Lied is one of the dumbest things I've ever read in sequential art form. And I can't say for sure if it's better or worse than Frank Miller's All Star Batman & Robin, the Boy Wonder.
elfen lied is indeed worse because it didn't have crazy steve in it. he's the best part of all star batman and robin.

Its just angsty teenage melodrama in a giant mech series.
Holy shit someone who finally understands it.

We in the mecha fandom have a joke about how the things like the mechs getting crucified are actually there because "Anno thought it was cool in Ultraman". Which does kinda line up considering Anno is actually a massive nerd.

Code Geass should have ended in season 1, cliffhanger and everything
Code Geass should've never been made. One of the most insufferable things ive ever watched imo.

Its not that deep bro, aside from the last episode, which I agree is kind of wack. Its just angsty teenage melodrama in a giant mech series. It is perfectly in line with most 90's anime up until the weird last episode which felt more like Anno's personal therapy session or something. At least he rectified his mistake with "End of Evangelion", although that movie is equally problematic for the character assassination of both Shinji and Misato in some revenge plot against the annoying fans of the series.

If you find that shit too complicated, this might be more your speed:

Ohhh another hot take I remembered. Last two episodes of Eva were the most entertaining episodes.

I thought it was fun too, but it was kind of bullshit to end the series with a power point presentation.

IMO Code Geass is pretty meh and it only starts picking up speed at the last fourth of the first season, but then s2 starts and throws away all the tension that had been building up :/ such a disappointment

Another hot take for the seiyuu fans this time: I don't like Tsuda Kenjirou's voice, he sounds like a bad Dio Brando impression when he raises his voice (and because this is anime he does that far too often)

Wow how did you know I never read it. We born in japan never read Dragon ball or bleach or Naruto or one piece it´s only western people that read that. We only read garfield and peanuts in Japan.

Even if bleach is bit more complex still the same deal if you break it down the basic Ichigo get beat up comes back again and then win same if Luffy gets beaten around a bit then he wins. And it´s all thanks to Friends ship is magic.

And the best way to get stronger is get flash back to my half dying friends faces then scream like your constipated as fuck.

And lets not get started on some of the emo arc some of them goes taugh like Deku and etc where they need to feel useless because their friends got beaten but did not die and if they die they are some times brought back because why the fuck not.

I sadly read allot of them from dragon ball to bleach to Demon slayer to Fire force and my hero to D.Gray-man and honestly they are all so damn predictable. "And I read them before you even got the English translation.

Why not change it up a bit make the Main charter die when he supposed to die to make place for his friends train up become stronger to take revenge now that would put a spin on things.

And why the fuck not make a series where we never have to see the Im so sad because im useless arc.

I mean look at fucking gladiator they killed Maximus instead of him screaming like his taking a shit just to get stronger.
I didn't say that you never read it. I was saying that you were coming off as someone who never did and is just making assumptions based on what you know about other things. Please do not put words in my mouth. Also, I don't appreciate you acting so rude to me especially since I don't think I was that rude to you about this.

Of course there's similar plot beats. It's called the "Hero's Journey" and it's existed since the Epic of Gilgamesh. By your logic, all JRPGs are the same slop because they all have the same plot beats of recruiting characters, fighting an evil enemy that destroys a peaceful village, have some big world changing plot twist, and end with fighting god or a god-like being. But that's not true, is it? There's stuff happening in between the main plot points.

My point is that it's about the journey and not the endpoint. It's easy to make everything look bad if you oversimplify it enough.
