What are some of your favorite PS2 Hidden Gems? I am looking for some obscure PS2 games to play this Xmas.
"GUNGRAVE" and "GUNGRAVE overdose" are titles i never see people talk about! they are very VERY short games but the experience itself stayed with me forever the entire presentation and raw fun was super nice!

SHMUPS and action:
Silpheed
Rez
The Red Star
Contra Shattered Soldiers and Neo-Contra
R-Type Final
Space Channel Five - Part 2.
Silpheed is great for PS2

Not sure if its obscure, but I never see anyone talking about it. Genuinely one of my top 3 PS2 games. The mechanics are so addicting, and the soundtrack is awesome. I think racing is so much more fun in this than anyone of the mainstream car racing games. And it has an awesome PSP port. Highly recommend this game!!

It's not an exclusive and it's nowhere on the tier of a proper game like a lot of the mentions, but Age of Zombies was one that always stuck with me from the PSP. It was one of two PSP Minis that I ever bought and I ended up blasting through it time and time again. It's short, there's not much to it, but it's absolutely perfect for short bursts of arcadey gameplay.

Just pull up the archive. People aren't shy about sharing their experiences in the comments, so you'll find a lot of honest reviews in there.

While "good" is subjective I'd say Maken Shao is kind of a hidden gem that rarely gets mentioned. It's hard to argue if the Dreamcast or PS2 version is better (I haven't played enough of the PS2 version to make that conclusion) but most of my frame of reference comes from the DC game.

It's a third person hack and slash game where you play as a sentient sword/weapon on a mission to align with whoever you choose, really. It gives the game a fair amount of different paths and a few different endings. One of the primary mechanics is "brainjacking" to take control of different key characters who end up having different abilities, interactions, etc. The combat is a little rough around the edges at times but it has soul, and despite it getting pretty difficult later on I still enjoyed it.

10,000 Bullets

"Stella Deus" (tactical rpg)
"Atelier Iris 3" (turn-based rpg)
