"Hello you absolute Legends" Karl Jobst loses lawsuit against Billy Mitchell

I watched/listened to it earlier today. I finished it thinking Karl is a fool, although one I have empathy toward, and that Billy is a jerk and a pathological liar. Kind of how I felt before, but I did appreciate the depth into which Karl went over everything, even finances. I also didn't realize he had attempted to settle prior to the lawsuit. It did feel like he should have spent more time clarifying what he presented the gofundme as being about and what the public perception was. I'm still unclear about if he really did mislead people about the intent of the lawsuit. Most of that section was rebutting the claim from Mitchell that Jobs knew a second lawsuit wouldn't actually be filed. I didn't even know there was the threat of a second lawsuit.

The section about Billy standing on things really got a chuckle out of me. Why would someone who is already tall need to appear taller? Reeks of insecurity. Billy reminds me of Hulk Hogan in terms of lying and exaggerating about things that seem super unnecessary whey they are already well-known. People who don't care about details won't look into it, and those who do will likely become critics and detractors.

I can see how it may have been better to let things go instead of spending an hour plus of the video reacting and rebutting to things Billy Mitchell and later LUS said...but if I were Karl, I would have done the same. If I felt like someone was continuing to run their mouth and spread misinformation, I'd want to respond, especially when they were attempting to interfere with the sale of Jobst's portion of the house he and his wife owned. It may be fueling the fire, but ignoring it also allows incorrect information to spread unfettered. The people who already dislike Karl are unlikely to give him any benefit of the doubt again, so he has nothing to lose in that sense.

I assume Karl acts normal irl, it's just his style of recording that weirds me out a bit. At this point it's clear to me that's he submitted his voice to some AI text-to-speech service, as there's points I'm fairly certain I heard artifacts in it.
Huh, I never got the impression he was feeding scripts through an AI or thought about it, but you could be right ::omgdoom That's just kind of how he always sounded for me... Even bits when he talks to camera. And I'm not being hard on him, I just think he naturally has a very methodical way of speaking.

I'm not 100% sure about my guess tbh, but there's definitely something going... when I was watching MVG once I noticed some strange artifacts too. I don't know if it's some trained filter to make the voice sound better or some automated process to cut silent parts.

These artifacts I'm talking about is when the next word has an abrupt intonation shift that a human wouldn't do, or when single a syllable actually sounds like a robot freezing.

Karl is coping hard. He wants people to believe he got some win against Billy because the lawsuit cost him money.
The fact is, Billy doesn't care about the money and just wanted to hurt Karl as much as possible, which he did. Karl lost in court, is bankrupt, and his reputation took a huge hit. And he better pray his wife won't divorce, as he would be homeless.

His "apology" is so fake... He's aware of the backlash, that he lost a lot of views and credibilty, and realizing that after all these months his views aren't going up (he also STILL loses subscribers months after the debacle), he just says what people want to hear. Damage control. If he was sincere, he would have just made his apology and moved on. Instead, he went on rambling more about Billy.

The whole part about Billy's personal life was unnecessary and childish. Also kinda defamatory, as divorces settlement take a while, especially with wealthy people, so it's possible he was separated from his wife but not divorced from his wife when he dated his current wife. It's still private matter, Karl looking into it is borderline creepy, and sharing it online is disgusting, but not surprising coming from him.
The part about Billy standing on things was petty and childish, again. Karl is just trying to make Billy look as bad as possible because he can't stand the idea of people not hating Billy, especially at a time when he's himself being mocked.

Not gonna lie, I lost any sympathy for Karl and believe he just got hit by some good old karma.
