Have you ever revisited a game you played a long time ago, and you get to THAT part?

Unfortunately I like Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door a little less each time I play it, and anyone who's played it should know that the search for the bob omb General White around/after Chapter 6 is just blatant padding. So unnecessary having to back track to every single world and speak to specific characters in each world in a specific order to trigger the next one is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen for such a good game.

The underwater section in Dino Crisis 2. That part SUCKS, lol.

But Lud's Gate in Tomb Raider 3 has to be worse. Specifically the big underwater maze section, worst part of the London levels by far.

the guy who designed the megaman legends 2 S license test demanded a level of mastery seen nowhere else in the game or series, and specifically, demanded sub-mastery of a skill (lifting enemies and throwing them at each other) that comes in handy like, a handful of times later.

The Okumura boss battle in Persona 5. Fuck that time limit. You have to be perfect or else you’re fucked.

GTA V is a great game even if everyone has grown quite sick of it by this point.
But doing this mission makes me wanna staple my balls to the game's case.
Doing it the first time around was perfectly fine, doing it for the 500th time on repeated playthroughs gives you a lobotomy from how fucking boring this shit is.

Any sporadic stealth section with instant fail in action oriented games.

Bonus points if you play with the most annoying character in the game in these sections.

This probably speaks to...whatever I haven't been diagnosed with, but I realllllly liked Chocobo Hot and Cold, like it was my favorite minigame in FF9.

On topic, has anyone said Battletoads yet? Pretty sure everyone knows what part I mean.

The overworld treasure hunting part is cool, but hot and cold drove me nuts replaying it. Even with save state cheese, it felt like it took forever and pissed me off. I have no idea how I had the patience as a kid for it... Is there a strategy I don't know O_o Also, best minigame in 9 is not saying much. I love 9, but the card game made no sense, to me. I preferred catching frogs to hot/cold, and even that was not great...

I think it reminded me of playing Battleship with my brothers? I dunno, I haven't really examined it. The card game was terrible though, or maybe it's great but I had zero understanding of what triggered combos.

THE ENTIRE FUCKING FOURTH STRATUM IN ETRIAN ODYSSEY 1 CAN GET OUT OF THE SCREEN, KNEEL BEFORE ME AND SUCK MY... ahem, sorry, trauma came back

The fourth stratum in Etrian Odyssey 1, after a relaxing third stratum full with water themes, fun to navigate and map floors and a forgetable but fun boss battle, you got to a desert where Atlus seemed too make people want to break their console or cart at best, with each floor having a gimmick that made me say

First floor: Conveyor sand puzzles
Second Floor: One way hidden passage maze
Third floor: ... not bad actually, the most open floor in the entire game, but enemies are annoying and give cheap ass drops and EXp, so not even grinding is fun
Fourth Floor: ANOTHER MAZE, this time of passages, at least these ones are two ways, but good luck mapping them in a coherent way
Fifth Stratum: to put the anthrax filled cherry in the top of this FUck you player cake, a maze full of FOE's and a path to the Boss without encounters

Where is the bad part? you may be thinking

YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO DEFEAT THEM OR ELSE THE BOSS REVIVES HIMSELF BECAUSE THE GAME DESIGNER APARENTLY GOT CHEATED BY HIS WIFE WHEN MAKING THE LEVEL and they arent mere damage sponges, one can confuse, other can curse, one could tank a nuke and the another hits like a truck, oh, and the FOE's respawn frequently, so you need to be careful with your ressuply trips or bring the entire fucking store, the boss himself fells easier, but as a final kick in the nuts

Usually you can reach the next floor after beating the boss in the games to be able to reach a warp point back home, report the boss's defeat so you can progresss, and resupply, but here...

YOU NEED TO ADVISE YOU DEFEATED THE BOSS BEFORE REACHING THE FINAL STRATUM, MEANING YOU NEED TO BACKTRACK AND DO ALL THIS FUCKING TRIP AGAIN *blood boils*

Hmm I have a lot to say about this topic but it would turn into a book so I'll save you from reading a great wall of China lol and only mention one specific video game that bothered me a lot.

-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker-

It does bothers me a lot because it's already my favorite Zelda game but without it it would be just perfect: I have no idea what they were thinking when they information dump you with forced stealth mission just after the game started making you search for stuff just to find your way to beat the level. The level design is so boring making you go all around, beat enemies again and again because they spawn again when you enter the room again. It wouldn't bother me if it had happened relatively at the end of the game. They force you to master the game by learning most of the gameplay the game has to offer in that one level. This is just beyond a tutorial level.

I love stealth games because they are stealth games that indicate you won't have to bother with battle. Not to mention stealth games does have a clear sense of goal of where to go and what to do. In this Zelda game they had no idea how to design a stealth level at all and they actually didn't care. They used stealth aspect as a way to fishbait players like it's a good thing just because of the popularity of Metal Gear Solid games. In the end they ended up forcing players bother with a level that feels like end-game just after it started. After that point the game really worth continuing but due to extreme boredom I could hardly recover from the boredom so I can beat the game at the time.

The Meat Carnival in Psychonauts.
I think that level is the only thing preventing me from every attempting to play it again.

Also that one mission in the original Saints Row, where you have to shoot down a plane that's about to take off, while an NPC who's driving the car you're in, drives it in the opposite direction of the plane. Meaning if you don't land two direct hits on that plane at the very start, you may as well restart the mission. And every time you restart, you have to drive to the airport!

Oh, and the final level in The Simpsons Hit and Run. I still can't complete it after all these years!

Seconded, at least the final boss is easy, maybe you fuel your anger at the level to Raz

The tower of pizza (yeah i'm hungry) from Castlevania Bloodlines, it's not the worst level but i think it's the most weak/tedious in the whole game, also ZEN from half-life, and maybe the Library in Halo 1 but i recently played it coop on Legendary with my brother so i can forgive it because we had a BLAST.

Tails and Eggman mech levels in Sonic Adventure 2 are just not my thing man. The ear screeching high pitched beeping button you have to hold down when targeting to get a good score is so annoying. Just unpleasant levels to play through imo. I really like the racing kart levels Tails and Rouge get tho
