Have you ever revisited a game you played a long time ago, and you get to THAT part?

What's "that part" of a particular game that makes you absolutely not want to replay it?

For me? One is Taris in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I really want to play through the game again someday but the prospect of Taris stops me. It's so linear and I've done it several times already on abandoned playthroughs.
I like Taris. What I hate is that giant desolate space ship in the beginning of Kotor 2.

  • The teardrop segments in Twilight Princess makes my want to replay a game I already kind of dislike grind to a complete halt whenever I’m reminded of them.
  • Undead Settlement in Dark Souls 3 (though the only areas I kinda like in that game are High Wall and the catacombs area)
  • The part of Secret of Monkey Island right after you leave Mêlée Island
  • The prison in Fable 1
  • The prison in Fable 2
  • Silph Co.
  • Every non-platforming level in Earthworm Jim 2
  • Click Clock Wood
There are probably more, but I rarely replay games unless I super love them, so these hurdles are kind of easy to make themselves known for me.

Right after the bios finishes....

Then Final Fantasy VII starts... 🤮

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous the whole beginning portion in Kenabres. It's functionally a multi-hour tutorial, you don't get any of the actual mythic stuff until you leave and the whole game is based around playing with Mythic progression. I think my fastest time to leave (no glitches, no mods, etc) was 3 hours and I was playing a busted cavalier during that.

The beginning of Skyrim and Fallout 4. I really like both games but just the thought of having to replay the initial cutscenes and quest is enough to keep me away from a new playthrough lol. Fallout 3's beginning is also a bit of a pain but not so bad, and Fallout New Vegas is perfect of course and there's absolutely no flaw whatsoever :)

I stopped playing Undertale midway through a genocide route because the process of proccing random encounters, which gets harder to do the more creatures you kill, was too tedious for me

I also have anger at those bosses for being unfair and on top of the attacks and contact on the Doc Robot who has Wood Man's ability and Quick Man's ability which is 8 pts. of damage and I do get angry at facing bosses this unfair and I even had to use a weapon like Snake Search to defeat it faster (4 pts. Damage) and I even had to use up to 2 E Tanks if I don't want to fail in the battle.
I generally stop there because I’ve kinda had my fill at that point lol
I do that with most Mega Man games. The final stages are a hassle I don’t care for most of the time, so I tend to dip out once I get to them.

Okay, well it's still a thing whether you agree with it existing or not.
If a character wants to call themselves a grey jedi they certainly can, but the jedi were an actual order with certain rules and beliefs. If you don't follow them you can't call yourself a jedi and have it actually mean anything to someone who was actually from the jedi order. A real jedi wouldn't recognize you as one. That's why Ahsoka stop calling herself one. She had a bit of a falling out with the jedi order and left them to go off on her own.

So called grey jedis aren't jedis or Sith. They are individuals who happen to be force sensitive and are just doing their own thing, which is fine. They're basically not on either team, although Ahsoka still is for all intents and purposes a light side force user. So even if you're not a jedi or a sith you're still ultimately using one side of the force or the other. There's no middle option, it's just light side and dark side. That's just the way George Lucas set it up

I REALLY hate the Pickham arc in Dragon Quest 8.

Sure, Yangus is my favorite DQ character ever and has an important role there, but the game crawls to such a halt in that area, full of back and forths, and you're practically forced to grind before heading to the labyrinth (which I don't mind but it's boring when you feel forced to) since it's such a difficulty spike.

I started replaying DQ8 last winter and as always just kind of forgot about the game when I got there. Finally pushed through and finished it yesterday, so I can continue playing this wonderful game.

The boss fight inside the stone robot in Breath Of Fire 1.
Like, it's such a random difficulty spike and all the other boss fights after that are piss easy.
That, and of course:

I feel like replaying MGS Peace Walker now and again. It's my favourite MGS game.

The main thing stopping me is I know there's that one really rubbish button mashing torture minigame that is mandatory to progress the story. Much worse than any of the other MGS torture minigames.

I couldn't even do it the first time I played through the game, instead having to get a friend of mine to do it for me.

That was like 8 years ago now and my button mashing skills, and hand joints, have only gotten weaker.

I still can´t beat Sonic Unleashed´s final boss because of a similar button mashing section.

I can't beat Air man in Mega Man 2.
But jokes aside, I really, really liked Destroy All Humans for the PS2, but the final boss fight was so mind numbingly bullshite that I died so many times that I resorted to using CodeBreaker to have infinite health just so I could finally beat the game. Maybe I just sucked at the game? All I know is that 99% of the game? I loved it! But what stops me full on from playing it again is the final boss fight.

I managed to finish it once back in the day, but I definitely also remember struggling in that final fight on the PS4 remaster as well!

Honestly the real reason why I can never stay with any Animal Crossing is because I think of all the stuff I used to have. My New Leaf house had a backyard with a driveway and a car

I just wonder if this is normal behavior?

For example: I want to play PRAGMATA (yay no HV!!!)
I also want to play Chrono Trigger but I don't wanna run after those fuckin rats
on the rafters in future oblivion-land again, so F**K IT, I just don't
Post automatically merged:

I really wanted to put "get to or through" but I hit the character limit.

  • Romeo is a Deadman with that stupid horror stage in the first half.
  • DMC3SE with the later half of the tower section.
  • Mission 4 and 5 in DMC4.
  • Any platforming sections in a Double Dragon game.
  • The helicopter section on Hard mode for Gunstar Super Heroes.
  • Any level in Doom 64 that gets really puzzle and switch heavy.
