Have you ever looked at a game and thought "this is so stupid, i love it"

Tiny Tank
I've only played the demo, but the intro FMV is burned into my brain. "Tinky tinky clanky clanky what the fuck is that?!"

Tail Concerto has always had a magnetic effect on me. It takes place on a bunch of floating islands and you play as the most adorable doggie guy ever named Waffle Ryebread, who rides around in a little mech that shoots bubbles. You use said bubbles to immobilize troublemaker Kittens, grab them and, uh, I've always been unclear as to what happens next. They get like, thrown over Waffle's head and get sucked into a green thing on the back of his mech that seems to miniaturize them as it does so. Is it like a ghost trap from Ghostbusters? Does the green thing teleport them somewhere? Is it something far darker? Anyway, I don't even need to tell you the game is Japanese.

It's the only game in the Little Tail Bronx series I've played, though the rest of them are on my radar. Especially the Fuga trilogy. That would also be a good choice for this topic. War is hell with adorable little fuzzy things. I imagine the vibe is similar to the Valkyria Chronicles games, but I could be wrong.

TIL the character designer for the game is also the character designer for Chrono Cross, Escaflowne and a bunch of other stuff.

I have played Fuga 1.

It does have a few funny, cute and wholesome moments, but that's like 10% of the game, as for the most part, its very dark (especially the soul cannon mechanic), it never lets you forget about the war, its implications, and that the cast is mostly children.

I would point you towards Solatorobo instead, if you want something more happy and wholesome.

Ooh, that's good to know, thank you for informing me. I heard about the ability to shoot the children from your canon, but with a name like soul canon it doesn't seem like it was played for laughs. Solatorobo is certainly on my list, I have already acquired it. I just noticed Red has the same green gem thing that Waffle has on the back of his robot on his chest. Hmm, interesting, I doubt that's an accident. But yeah, I'm fine with rather dark things, so I'm looking forward to exploring the rest of the series. ::biggrin

It's the people I hang with online that bring up these weirder than weird titles and they usually suggest that I try them out. I love those fuckin' weirdos!

Resident evil 4.

On paper:
Run down a hallway and shoot the same 3 enemies over and over again for 12 hours. Plus enough QTEs to choke a yak! Oh, and it has nothing to do with the first 6 games in the series, tosses the existing plot and villians out unceremoniously and replaces them with silly horse doodie

In practice:
somehow manages to be the single most fun and addicting action game ever made. To the point that some Nintendo fans (of all people) will argue it to be the best game of all time. And it's currently like doom and skyrim, in that it gets ported to EVERYTHING because people love it so much.

South park 64 was so bad it genuinely was fun, when I was a kid throwing piss snowballs at evil alien turkeys was amazing, the controls were terrible and after awhile the gobbling noise from the turkeys makes you wanna end it all

That game is just unfortunate. It started development during Season 1 and had like 8 months in the oven. The OST was made in like 3 weeks because they had to rush to get something in there. It's a very interesting development story, and there isn't much info to begin with. That game is a morbid curiosity for me, I just love learning anything about it. It's a decent game for what it is. Matt and Trey are bugging, it's fun.

I still have the original cart and manual from when I was a kid and was given my n64 from my cousin, the multiplayer is actually really badly fun if you look past the terrible controls and the lighting looks weird, I used to lowkey b insane at PVP on that game, shoulda went pro

This is the first thing that came to mind.

Also, unfortunately this one is an absolutely terrible game and it makes me sad because I love how stupid it is...

That's not what my copy of Trixie in Toyland looks like.
