Have you ever Cosplayed?

I don't get what you mean.
What Im getting at after seeing good cosplay I don´t wanna do some crap ass cosplay that would look shit compare to top tire cosplayers. I seen cosplay that look like they got help from professional Hollywood wardrobe team.

And if I cobbled together something it would look shit as I got no talent for it what so ever. So you kind of lose motivation for it.

Just like when you see people bloody great at drawing all you can think of is how good they are and how ass you are so you kind of don´t wanna do it.

That's a bit of a defeatist mindset.

I mean I remember a funny saying about talent: "If you're good at something there will be an asian that is way younger than you that is also much better at it."

Yeah but if you suck at everything why even try. Some times you need to know your own limits. My only talent is being a negative asshole which I probably proven to allot of you 100 times over.

I have never cosplayed.

I've done really low and effort cosplays a few times. Twice as Dave from Homestuck and once as Shinji Ikari.

Idk, I don't rlly like it. It'd rather look cool as myself

Didn't expected a thread like this in this forum. Hooo boy, where do I start?
I started back in 2015/2016 with some lousy Zack Fair, but then moved with Roxas from KH II (both his casual outfit and Organization XIII).
But yeah, I mostly cosplayed from anime and vidya in this full decade: Komaeda and Rantaro from Danganronpa, Yukki from Mirai Nikki ( thankfully sold 💀 ), Trafalgar Law, a low budget Howl from the Miyazaki movie, Charlemagne from Fate/Extella, the protagonists from Persona 3 to 5, Locke from Final Fantasy VI and finally Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles.

Currently trying Dante from Devil May Cry V as of lately. But it's literally the only new cosplay since 2 years.
I kinda do have in wishlist Fierce Deity Link from Majora's Mask and Gambit from the X-Men.

It's a hobby with tendentially a toxic community. It's why I treat it like a very casual one without caring for the competitive side at all, but still caring enough to see how many enthusiasts I could gather and talk with. It always feels nice when it happens. Then you may meet as much as good people as other to stay careful from (just like most environment anyways). It still helped a lot during a dark time and I'm happy, if not proud of that.

Tried to lazily search that pic of Trafalgar Law I had, but I guess Joker from P5 should work fine lol

I only ever did cosplay one time, and it was as a really shitty version of Itachi from Naruto.

I think I literally bought the costume from Wish. It was not a good look and my friend's poor attempt at Jason Vorhees didn't go much better.

I am too ashamed of both the friendship and the way we both look to even consider sharing the photo with another human being.

I have Cosplayed as:

Tarma (Metal Slug).
Duke Nukem.
Dante (DMC 3).
Black Silence Roland (Library of Ruina).
Chesed (Lobotomy Corporation).
Caleb (Blood).
Franken Stein (Soul Eater).
10th Doctor (Dr. Who).
Black Suit (Blue Archive).
Zero (Code Geass).

I cosplay as a piece of shit everyday sparkle sparkle

I never cosplayed and I never will I mean there is not a single charter I can pull off and out of respect for all my favorite charter I would never dress up as them and make them look like shit.

3 times that I can remember:

Ash Ketchum from Pokemon

Roronoa Zoro from One Piece (This version with the yellow jacket plus a white t-shirt, and yes I did dye my hair green!)

Shirogane Naoto from Persona 4

I don't know if I have pictures. I don't think so.

Shout out to my grandmother for making those costumes for me! ::flexing ::sailor-embarrassed

I've never done cosplay, but I always wanted to.
Where I live, they have an annual event focused on comics, video games, and movies, which I've always been passionate about. It's a shame that a lot of people ruin it, which has led me to stop going.

Ever since I was a kid, everyone told me I looked like Lupin III. It's a shame I didn't have the money—and didn't even want to ask for it—to buy the necessary things. Maybe one day, who knows...

I feel bad for you man, hope you can start cosplaying someday ::flexing

I can't be bothered to dig up a photo, but I have been cosplaying since 2007 when I was roughly 17. I had been an anime fan for a long time but only in 2007 discovered conventions. I then went and lost my mind at the amount of nerds (like me) who were mostly all in costumes. And so, to fit in, the next year I naturally opted to get my own. This was the period where Naruto Shippuden was all the rage, so I went as Gaara - my then favorite character - a cosplay I got way overpriced on a site called cosplaymagic.

Ever since I have been cosplaying a small handful of characters over the years. Gaara (Kazekage). Naruto (Hokage). Naruto (Sage Mode). Ulqiorra (from Bleach) I only had then costume and didn't feel like painting my face or body white so I just doned a white t-shirt, it was a horrible cosplay. Ash (Pokémon, super easy costume). Marluxia (Kingdom Hearts CoM). And Sora (Kingdom Hearts III).

I rarely buy new cosplays as they are way too expensive for me at the rate I find new characters I wanna be. On that last note, my most recent "cosplay" was actually from a live-action show (that I have talked about), it was the main character from Pocket ni Boken wo Tsumekonde (aka Pokétsume), where I bought all the individual pieces of clothing on various sites.

Even though I'm not really really into this kind of stuff, I did it once. I cosplayed as Final Fight's Poison.

There was a Japanese culture/pop-culture evento going on near my town, and that was the reason.

Not to my knowledge, I don’t think.

If wearing corpse paint counts then yes.

once as Rion Steiner of Galerians (1999) back in the day. the next two times I wore normal attire, Neon Genesis Evangelion NERV t-shirt, and Street Fighter 4 'Vega vs. Balrog' t-shirt by Meat Bun.

I've cosplayed as Cid Highwind from Final Fantasy VII once.
